Yeah, I changed jobs again, left Bytedance, went to little Shit station

Bytedance is a modern company, with great colleagues, a perfect tool chain, and generous benefits. It is a dream place for most programmers, so why did I leave?

With the increase of working experience and a clearer understanding of future career development, I want to focus on front-end engineering, which is the so-called infrastructure. It is a great sense of achievement for me to make tools to improve work efficiency

Staying in a business-oriented department and putting energy into infrastructure under the daily business push was really a bit of a stretch for me. Therefore, I gradually had the idea of joining the infrastructure team, so I jumped ship and went to Station B

In the last day of Byte, my colleague even bought whisky specially for me to practice, which was really touched

I also recorded the first Vlog of my life to commemorate this unforgettable time

When I came to station B, I was mainly responsible for infrastructure construction and PC homepage development. The former is the direction I am interested in, while the latter is a product with hundreds of millions of MAU, as you can see from the picture below

About the technology

The technology side is in a slow growth phase due to the previous busy byte work

However, since I informed LD of my resignation, I had more time to invest in technical growth. During this period, I improved the Swagger tool which has been maintained for nearly 2 years and wrote an introduction blog

This tool has also been recognized by byte colleagues and is very useful and highly recommended

I’ve heard a lot of people say that developers should learn for what they do and not blindly learn cutting-edge technology, and I agree with that

The new work is Vue3, then looked up to shelve more than 1 years of Vue3 source code, before and after the general context are sorted out again, these are saved in the personal knowledge base, may be sorted out in the future

Even though I was working in byte, I still had a habit of spending a few hours every weekend coding and learning, which I mentioned in my year-end review the year before last

In an age of so much information flow, I feel very fortunate to be able to remain independent and still have a passion for technology

Future articles on command line tools, test cases, packaging tools, and front-end engineering are likely

And finish up that Linux book we shelved a long time ago (maybe)

In 2022, I think serverless, Meta Framwork, Bundleless, SWC/ESbuild and other cross-language packaging tools will be popular

These are all areas that I’m constantly looking at, trying to find ways to improve efficiency and generate some revenue internally

Going on to some digressions, recently I found in the survey of test cases that many domestic articles either have no solutions or answer the questions wrong. In contrast, the quality of foreign articles is much higher, even if they do not directly answer the questions, they can also provide some inspiration

In fact, this situation is already a consensus, but I hope the domestic technical community can do better

On top of that, the deeper you get into the front end, the more you find yourself in a no man’s land, even if you read articles on the Web. In this case, it is necessary to brain storm with colleagues around, which shows how important a reliable team is
