In some servers, the jupyter Notebook may not be available if the server is only command-line and cannot be visualized. To open the Jupyter Notebook on the server, you need to modify the connection properties slightly.
- First right – click the Server TAB in Session Manager and click Properties from the menu.
- Then click the tunnel on the left, and then click Add.
- Enter two port numbers. I have entered the default port 8888 for jupyter Notebook, and then click OK
- Then deselect the option in the lower right to forward X11 connections to and click OK.
- Double-click the server in Session Manager to connect, type Jupyter Notebook in the command line, and when you start it, you’ll see the Jupyter Notebook screen in your browser.
