In the past six months, the online technology salon hosted by PostgreSQL China has been by our side, accompanying us and witnessing our growth. During this period of progress, we were lucky to invite 12 lecturers to share technical topics in different aspects, among which more than 500 friends participated enthusiastically. “PostgreSQL Online Salon” has been running for 6 sessions with the support of many PG fans.

Now, “China PostgreSQL Chapter” has gradually grown into one of the most popular organizations for PG fans in China. Here, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to every friend who has supported us and review our wonderful moments together.

The first phase

On March 7th, the PostgreSQL Online Salon I came to an end. Ma Xiaoliang, senior DBA of Goldwind Technology, Zhang Xiaohai, database engineer of Head office of China Minsheng Bank and Li Chuancheng, software kernel engineer of Hangao were invited to this salon. We discussed PostgreSQL’s new energy industry practices, how PostgreSQL meets financial needs, and PostgreSQL’s International community.

The second phase of the

On March 14, PostgreSQL Online Salon Ii closed. This salon invited Yan Zongshuai, senior development engineer of ZTE, Liu Hang, director of GIS in southern Department of Guosen, and Austin, senior architect and sharing expert. Discussed the topics of “PostgreSQL based on non-volatile memory optimization exploration”, “PostgreSQL in geographic information vector slice practice, database selection”.

The third stage

“PostgreSQL Online Salon 3” ended on March 21. PostgreSQL’s practice in the public transportation industry, PostgreSQL’s Citus practice and other topics were discussed.

The fifth stage

On April 11, PostgreSQL Online Salon 5 ended. This salon invited Li Xiaoguang (black brother), CEO of Kunming Changbo Technology Co., LTD., and Chen Weixing, head of CUUG Superior Technology Education and part-time professor of Changchun University of Science and Technology. We discussed PostgreSQL installation and deployment, PostgreSQL 12.2 Single-table query cost estimation algorithm and other topics.

The sixth period

On April 30, PostgreSQL Online Salon 6 came to an end. In this salon, Liu Shize, r&d engineer of Hangao Software, was invited to share with you “the formation of SPLIT brain in PG cluster”, “The relationship between split brain and PGtime-line”, “factors closely affecting split brain phenomenon in the process of PG stream replication management and high availability management”, including Virtual IP management and master/slave monitoring coordination. And exploration of data recovery during split-brain.
