Welcome to the “UC International Technology” public account, we will provide you with the client, server, algorithm, testing, data, front-end and other related high-quality technical articles, not limited to original and translation.

Recently,ReduThe author xDan Abramov(@dan_Abramov) tweeted: “We updated the wording we send to front-end engineer candidates to better reflect the role’s interview process at Facebook. Hope to help you prepare for the interview!

👀 Let’s take a look at the specific content.

We’ll try to stay practical and focus on the problems you might encounter when building your app. We won’t ask you to write a sorting algorithm from scratch, but we want you to understand the performance associated with manipulating JavaScript objects and arrays. You need to be able to identify and fix code bottlenecks and explain the trade-offs you make.

We won’t ask you to implement fuzzy data structures like red-black trees, but it will give you an overview of common UI engineering data structures like arrays, maps, sets, and DOM trees. You’ll also find it helpful to read computer science topics like Big O notation (generally used to indicate time/space complexity) and Tree Traversa. We’re not asking you to memorize a particular algorithm. We value that you can apply these principles in practice to create fast and responsive user interfaces.

We expect you to have a good knowledge of the JavaScript language and its basic uses. These include iteration, closures, scope, and writing asynchronous code. We won’t quiz you on a particular library – so don’t worry about learning React or similar frameworks. However, we want UI engineers to understand what’s underneath the abstract syntax they use. For example, if you’ve only used UI libraries before, take the time to learn about the native DOM API. If you’ve only used a library like Lodash, try implementing some of its methods from scratch. Check how well your scheme performs with large input Spaces and consider memory consumption and edge cases that need to be handled. As you practice, it is recommended that you discuss your ideas with others and draw sketches on paper to help you think. It’s a great way to practice for an interview!
