Recently, there are several special students in the Python technology learning group of My school: a girl in grade three who is interested in programming, a teacher who just started teaching Python in university, and an engineer who is still in the field of programming in his 40s.

Since writing my official account, I have met a variety of people, such as a dentist father who joined the group in place of his elementary school son, a former hacker who has been working as a freelancer for many years and trades stocks every day, and a self-taught deaf programmer who came to consult courses.

These are the exceptions. Most of my readers are students, programmers, or would-be programmers, but I was struck by this unique minority.

On the one hand, I see the appeal of Python, and on the other, I see the diversity of the Python learning community.

Why all kinds of training institutions have become so popular in recent years? Perhaps it is because of this large and diverse group of learners who are trying to bridge the gap to Python’s gravity center.

I had always consciously or unconsciously overlooked the existence of these readers. A few days ago, I did a geek Time column promotion, and through my interactions with some readers and observations of some phenomena, I deepened my understanding of these non-mainstream people.

Realizing this, I thought, maybe there’s something I can do for them, too? At least try to do both in the future when writing articles.

As it happened, a few beginners of different identities came to consult recently, asking me to recommend some introductory books, and we recommend books series has stopped more than two months, so, this recommended books to recommend some introductory books.

In preparation for this recommendation, I collected 40 introductory Python books, all of which are now included in a douban list for your convenience.

Let me show you the full list first.

40 books, this list is probably the largest for Python beginners.

I have read only a few of these books, and I do not recommend reading all of them. The main reason for collecting such a large number of books is that the audience is wide and the types of books are different, so it is appropriate to recommend more books.

Some books are good for zero foundation, some books are good for programming foundation; Some are written to college students, some to primary school students; Some book systems give full consideration to advanced content, and some books are simple and basic for getting started quickly. Most of the books are translated from foreign languages, and a few are original in China. Some books are classics that always sell, others are new and popular; Some books are more theoretical, some more practical…

Anyway, there’s one for you.

For the record, the list is full of published Books in Chinese, all of which can be found on Douban. In addition to these, there are many good introductory books online. For example, the Chinese translation of “A Byte of Python”, “Concise Python Tutorial”, “Python Tutorial” co-written by the father of Python, “Programming Little White Learn Python” edited by Zhihu, etc., cannot be listed one by one, but can be used as A reference.

In addition, the ranking of the titles above does not represent the ranking of recommendation. The douban link has been attached. It is suggested that you enter the corresponding items to check the ratings and comments before making a choice.

My advice: look up introductions and reviews, then pick one or two books and try it out. If it doesn’t go well, replace it, and if it does, consider speeding through a few more, cross-reading and catching up on gaps.

If you have any comments on this book list, such as suggestions for a replacement book, sharing your thoughts on a book, adding learning resources, offering suggestions for a follow-up book list, etc., please leave a comment.

Finally, let me tell you a piece of good news: Dangdang is doing an activity for millions of books (valid: 05.25–06.03), every 100 minus 50, and I was lucky enough to get a customized coupon code, double discount, the lowest discount 4.3 (400 minus 230). This is a rare opportunity. If you want to buy a book, please click on this article <<< to understand the details.
