We know the Twilio console is a work in progress and we will be developing an international framework for the new Twilio console, which you can read below before moving forward with the full Japan project.
The new Twilio console is now available and all users will automatically migrate to the new console starting August 28, 2021.
- Easy, intuitive access to Twilio products, services, and tools you want to use

“To survive and thrive in the digital economy, companies need to build their own, not just rely on SaaS services. You can’t buy differentiation. “The only way is to build it yourself.” Jeff Lawson, CEO of Twilio
The Twilio console allows developers to manage their applications and Twilio accounts and is a key part of the Twilio platform. In the 12 years since Twilio was founded, the number of products and services has grown from something you can count on one hand to something you can count on your toes. Twilio offers developers a new API, programmable applications, and a complete set of tools.
During the course of developing the platform, we had the opportunity to talk to thousands of developers. One common feedback we’ve received over the past few months is that the Twilio console is getting more complex to use. We wish to begin by explaining how we will address the issues raised.
As a platform company, Twilio has a responsibility to help developers create prototypes and new services, and in that sense, we are very pleased to introduce you to the new Twilio console. Redesigned, rebuilt, restructured and simplified, the Twilio console should help you meet your challenges.
In light of the above, we have made some bug fixes and improvements to the new console based on the feedback you received in the beta version that will be available from April 2021. We hope that the new console will provide you with a better user experience.
Based on user research 🔎
The new Twilio console is the result of extensive research, numerous improvements and rigorous feedback from our customers in usability testing. You can read more about how we design from a user experience perspective in this blog post.
Twilio’s challenges don’t end with today’s launch. As our CEO Jeff said, “This is just the beginning. Our goal is to improve the usability of the Twilio console every week, but most importantly we need your feedback. The feedback button on the right side of the new Twilio console is a great way to let us know what you think, what you want to see, and even what mistakes you find.
New navigation improvements 📍
We’ve improved the navigation of the new Twilio console to make it easier to navigate Twilio, whether you’re a developer or a business user. We also reorganized the content on the screen into four key areas that represent the most common usage of Twilio: development, monitoring, accounts, and billing.
- Development: We made improvements to support new work and builds for developers. This section makes it easy to find the part of the console screen you are interested in, and reduces the time to log in and go online.
- Monitoring section: This section brings together the key operations that developers need to scale their applications on Twilio, including cross-product logging, monitoring tools, and analytics.
- Account section: One-stop management of user API keys, tokens, privacy, and other information.
- Billing section: A one-stop dashboard for displaying all your billing and usage information.
Navigation is unified, making it easy to find the features you need and navigate seamlessly between screens across multiple Twilio products.
An equally beautiful platform 😍.
The new Twilio console has a new look and feel, designed by the Design Systems team. The new look and feel, combined with a new sense of design and comfort, embodies Twilio’s design philosophy of versatility. This new theme will be introduced into all products and Twilio console operations in the coming months.
Faster setup, implementation and operation 🚀.
The Twilio console was built on a new architecture and redesigned with improved performance as the primary goal. Not only will page load times decrease, but enhancements to existing services and the pace of adding new services to the console will also accelerate.
