Recently, I submitted a video named “Die from user Experience” in B station, which is a creative video with a bit of tutorial nature produced by several front end colleagues in The Experience design Department of China Reading.

Very low cost of a video, but also because of the cost of the reason, the main character has not been able to get through the novice village, haha, so far the video response is good, now tell the story behind it.

I plan to make a video, mainly for college recruits and interns to see, to understand the basic interactive experience attempt.

Then I want the video to be a little creative and a little corporate.

One of the core businesses of our company is network literature, so when talking about the characteristics of our company, we will naturally think of cool articles, time travel and hanging.

When it comes to hanging, here are some typical examples:

  • Grandpa in the ring

  • Small jade vase with rusty sword and bronze mirror

  • Black technology mission system

So we decided to go with the last one, the core theme of which is that if the user experience is not good, it doesn’t matter.

After determining the direction, it began to act, divided into four steps: script → props → shooting → post

1. The script

The male protagonist is named ye Chen, according to statistics Ye Chen is the name of the male protagonist with the highest appearance frequency in the fantasy novel. The next step is the plot design, which is based on some common interactive scenarios. Here is a screenshot of the script:

2. The props

I started with the idea of something like a muppet show, or a micro shoot like Altman.

Then prepare the material according to this idea.

Taobao has ready-made environmental materials, dozens of yuan, as shown in the picture below:

The transparent printing paper representing the system interface is also ready, as shown below:

The rest is the model of the male protagonist Ye Chen, need to pinch a real thing, similar to the following.

The above requirements are too high, in fact, as long as the goal is like a person can be, so I organized a group building activity to knead people, hoping to knead a few ye Chen’s shape, the requirements are not high, can be used.

However, even if the requirements are low, the final product… “Help”

I am still too confident of their own ability, the shape of this pinch out has been completely unable to see people, there is no way, change the way of thinking, find a ready-made role, the key can move, and to the kind of cheap, so we thought of Ultraman, and purchased a, dozens of dollars also package mail kind.

However, a price for a penny, this Ultraman bought over to find that can only do a fixed action, is the cross light that action, not that you can play with that kind of. Alas, forget it, an action on an action, the cost is limited, the requirements are not high, so make do.

However, with further attempts, we found that there were more problems. Our ordinary staff did not have the permission to print color, so many interactive interface effects could not be well displayed.

Alas…… He thought about using the iPad interface or the iMac screen simulation interface, and realized that Altman’s fingers couldn’t touch the buttons on the electronic device because they didn’t have temperature sensing and didn’t feel right.

It seems that the micro shooting route is not feasible, so forced by reality, change the way of thinking, using real people.

At first, we planned to use the third Angle.

However, since it is a fantasy type, through the background is certainly not modern, that is, we need to prepare ancient clothes, the thought of this, the head are big, where have the spare money to buy clothes, where have the time to rent, when the boss thinks that the job is not saturated how to do?

And, the third Angle of view shooting, shooting Angle, light have requirements, we this few people’s level, ha ha, the thought of shivering.

So, the final decision to use the first Angle of view shooting, so that the protagonist will not have to leave the country, clothing cost savings, shooting is simple, yeah, low cost hooray.

Then only need to prepare the only props – arrow can, Taobao walk.

3. The shooting

Although shooting from the first perspective saves a lot of cost and time for post-camera debugging, it is not smooth sailing.

The first problem is the stability of shooting. The main problem is that the iPad will shake a little when you touch the screen of the iPad with your finger. Although the shake is very small, because the iPad is shooting the back picture in real time, the picture will have obvious unnatural shake, which makes the experience very bad.

Later we borrowed a brace from a colleague to fix it, but the shaking was still there.

The second problem is that the flying arrows are not good. The main thing is that the arrow’s speed is so fast (you can see the outtake at the end of the video) that it’s hard to get a clear shot. In addition, the Angle of view is always wrong, because the arrow of this prop arrow is real metal, very sharp, but the shooting accident when it hits people, so it is thrown at the feet or beside people, so the arrow is very strange in the picture, not at people.

And then I got my fishing rod and my line and I was just kind of slingeing towards people, and then I realized it was too difficult to balance, it was too difficult to shoot outdoors in the wind.

How did it work out?

In terms of stability, all the click operations of the pop-ups in the system are simulated with JS, including the entire playing timeline and the feedback state of clicking. In this way, when shooting, you only need to hold the iPad. The iPad automatically records the screen, so that you do not need to click with your fingers, so that it will not shake naturally.

Arrow shooting here, the use of rewind, that is, the first arrow pointing to the camera, and then reverse thrown out, in the later part of the video is the arrow flying to the camera (that is, the hero). However, because the arrow is metal, the center of gravity is all in front, so when you throw it backwards, it will soon be head down, so you will see that ye Chen hit the arrow for a very short time, that’s why.

Then, in order to save costs, there is only one scene to the end, so the last few reborn looks a little monotonous, small regret.

The late 4.

Some friends have learned AE in college, so the simple later period is not under the table.

Then is the recording, the company has a more professional recording equipment, we borrowed it, the group roared, and then three friends actively participate in the dubbing work, experience a voice actor’s work, 233333.

Finally, ye Chen is eating the system of the egg shooting. Last week, ye Chen didn’t say, if I again…… I’m gonna eat the system.

So we specially made a cake in the shape of an iPad and covered Ye Chen’s mouth with cream. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

Because there is a picture of the boss emoji at the back of the video, therefore, it is not suitable for official channels to spread, so a few friends sent it privately on their personal accounts.
