Opening Ceremony
On October 19th, Blockathon(2018) Shanghai was held in P2 Joint Venture Office in Huangpu District. This event consisted of 9 teams composed of 50 blockchain developers, and 20 technical experts from excellent blockchain development teams at home and abroad acted as mentors and judges. After 48 hours of competition, 9 teams competed for the competition trophy in the road show on the afternoon of October 21.
Blockathon is a global blockchain developer competition. The Event in China has been successfully held in Beijing and Chengdu. This Competition in Shanghai is co-sponsored by bitFWD technology community, HiBlock blockchain community and blockchain brothers. Blockchain covers technologies that drive a new era of trust and decentralization, and a hackathon is an event where people from any field can come together and participate in a project within a specific time frame. By combining the two, Blockathon organizes the site, including grouping, creative demonstration, development training, road show, award evaluation and so on.

At the opening ceremony on October 19, Wang Denghui, partner of HiBlock Blockchain community, acted as the host of the opening ceremony and introduced the overall activity. Daniel, founder of BitFWD developer community in Australia, Bob, founder of HiBlock Blockchain community, and Tianye Fang, co-founder of Blockathon(2018) Shanghai gave opening speeches. Dane Richmond, commercial Consul of the Commercial Office of the Australian Consulate in Shanghai, expressed his support for the activities, believing that the friendly relations between China and Australia could be reflected and developed in these activities.

Subsequently, Li Shigeng, head of NEM China, Fang Tianye, co-founder of Ion Chain and Orange, core developer of Olympus Protocol respectively introduced their representative projects, encouraged everyone to adopt the protocol and technology of this project, and introduced the technical experts who served as mentors on the scene during the activity. Mentors accompany participants throughout the process to provide technical support and guidance.

The event of Blockathon(2018) Shanghai lasted for 3 days. On the morning of October 20th, the blockchain development training session was held. The core developers of OlympusLabs, Tenzorum and NEM, three excellent blockchain development teams, shared their development experience on the theme of lowering the user experience threshold of blockchain applications.
