I recently saw an Indian bigshot compile a GUI program and then successfully run the Flutter program on the Fuchsia system, including the official Flutter Gallery. I have to admire the foreign technical enthusiasm. He uses the Armadillo GUI as a bridge between the Fuchsia layer and the Flutter, then calls some of the underlying commands, and finally gets the Flutter program running. It’s not official, but it’s a big step forward.

The official Fuchsia source code has made great progress, it can be successfully compiled and run, but there is no Launcher. Now the big guy uses Armadillo GUI, which just fills this gap. Although there are many limitations as seen in the video, such as: The video playback buffer does not respond for a long time, some functions of the program are not fully supported, and the multi-window merger can not be restored.

After logging in to the GUI system, you can see some common operations through a drop-down window, including power display, Wifi display, network signal, volume adjustment, brightness adjustment. This applies to both mobile devices and desktops.

The core is an Ask for anything, where you can type in keywords to find the content you want, for example: Hello will give you a Hello World program, mail will give you an email program, Enter “Cube” to display the 3D rotated cube program, “gallery” to display the Flutter gallery program, “chat” to display the chat program, and “video” to display many player programs. Select one of them according to your needs.

Here’s the demo video, and you can see how the Big Guy in India does it:
