Spring Boot open source project into the third year, finally there is an open source project to break the Star, please readers criticism.

Spring Boot articles

In 2016, when I began to learn Spring Boot, there were not many articles about Spring Boot learning in China. Today, many friends are learning Spring Boot. From the homepage of the blog park, we can feel that there will be articles about Spring Boot on the homepage every day.

When I decided to push Spring Boot into all of my company’s projects, I wondered what would be the quickest way for teams to learn Spring Boot?

When I am preparing to learn a certain technology, I like to start with the simplest small Demo, which is called the Hello WorLd project. I feel that if I run the small Demo, I will succeed in a small step. I decided to promote Spring Boot this way, with an article explaining the use of Spring Boot components and a simple project example at the end.

So began a piece of writing up:

  • By the end of 2016, there were about 10
  • In 2017, I gradually found the status and wrote more than 30 articles (including courses).
  • Wrote more than 60 articles (including courses) in 2018
  • I wrote three in 2019

So far, more than 100 articles have been accumulated.

The open source project

Almost every article has a small sample project, which is grouped under an open source project. As more and more articles are published, the number of stars grows faster, and today the open source project has more than 10,000 stars.

Some of the examples in the open source project are still in 1.0, and have been continuously updated to 2.x recently. There have been six updates, and the optimized articles will be pushed to the public number: Java Geek Technology. If you are interested in Java, please be sure to follow.

There have been three other Spring Boot projects created on Github over the past three years, but this one has received the most attention.

Several other Spring Boot open source projects:

  • awesome-spring-boot
  • Favorites cloud collection
  • Spring Boot Sample course project

There are also two open source projects closely related to Spring Boot:

  • awesome-spring-cloud
  • spring-cloud-examples

Based on the project name, you can also guess the project content. If you are interested, click the link to see the project description.

What it means to write open Source

I uploaded these open source projects to Github and maintained them for the third year. What did I learn?

The goal of these open source projects is that if you are a beginner to Spring Boot, you can learn how to use Spring Boot components through simple debugging, and if you want to integrate them into your project, you can integrate them into your company project with only minor modifications.

So every example in the project needs to be as simple and as dependent as possible to minimize the cost of learning, and if you feel that way, I think the open source project is worth something.

After reading my article, many users left comments or discussed under it, thus deepening my understanding of this technology and finally achieving a win-win result. I think this is one of the meanings of open source. Most of all, I love the feeling of communicating with people, including using code.

Finally, we welcome all of you to work together to maintain these open source projects. Pull your good projects into them. Open source is a long way to go, and we are all just getting started.
