Android P is coming soon, and the new platform is currently in the final stages of debugging. Today, we’re releasing Beta 4 of Android P to developers.
Beta 4 is the last developer preview, and Android P will be available soon. This is an opportunity for you to test and release app updates to help users migrate to Android P.
What is the content of this update?
As a candidate for Android P, Beta 4 contains the final version of the system’s behavior and the official Android P API (API level 28) that has been used since Beta 2. Beta 4 will allow developers to fully test their apps in preparation for the arrival of Android P.
Simple steps, can be used
First, adapt your app to Android P to make sure it’s ready for the consumer release. You only need to install and test your current app on an Android P Beta device or emulator using Google Play. Make sure your app runs smoothly, looks good, and handles Android P behavior changes properly.
The subsequent updates | to reduce the use of the SDK interface in order to enhance the stability,
Once the necessary updates are made, we recommend that you immediately publish your app to Google Play without changing the target platform version of your app. This will help you continue to leverage the Android P API to optimize application performance and migrate it to the target platform while preserving the user experience.
Make use of Android P features and apis to further improve application performance
When you’re ready, explore Android P and take advantage of the platform’s new features and apis to make your app better, including multi-camera support, notch screen adaption, improved version notifications, ImageDecoder, and TextClassifier.
If you want to call the new API to compile your application, simply download the official API 28 SDK and related development tools to Android Studio 3.1, or use the latest Version of Android Studio 3.2. Then update the project’s compileSdkVersion and targetSdkVersion to API 28. After changing the target platform version, make sure your application supports any behavior changes.
When you are ready, release a new version of APK compiled from (or targeted at) API 28. We recommend that you use Google Play’s beta testing feature to get early feedback from a small number of users before moving to a full release.
