Today is the last day of 2020. Frankly speaking, I have been looking forward to the Chinese New Year for a long time.
It is often said to “sit still, meditate on your mistakes, and reflect on yourself three times a day.” Although I did not sit still or meditate, a year has passed in a twinkling of an eye. It is customary to review this year.
✍ writing
According to the number of articles published in the past year, since the outbreak was sealed at the beginning of the year, about 90+ articles have been written. Of course, many of them are “hydrologic”, but at least they have persevered.

Fortunately, I still insisted on learning in this year, and I read a variety of books in the fragmented time. Although there were not many books, I broadened my horizon for good or bad.
Technical reading: Flink Principles, Practice and Performance Optimization, Understanding Kafka: Core Design and Practice Principles, Hive Programming Guide, Data Warehouse Toolbox – Authoritative Guide to Dimensional Modeling, etc.
In terms of architecture, I have read “The Road to Big Data — Alibaba’s Big Data Practice”, “Data Platform Architecture: Best Practices of Enterprise Data”, “Offline and Real-time Big Data Development Practice”, etc., and I have written reading columns around these topics and gained a lot.
I have read Barbara Minto’s “Pyramid Principle” on the promotion, but “expression” is much more difficult than “doing”, and expression + thinking is still what I need to improve. I have flipped over the classical teacher’s “Transition — Techniques for Becoming a Master”.
Reading only one book in literature, When You Fly To Your Mountain like a Bird, it was an amazing story that gave me reflection on life and gave me strength in moments of cowardice, breakdown, and self-doubt.
