preface

Recently, Nintendo released the latest version of the system firmware for Nintend Switch, firmware version 10.0.2. For archive backup and EdiZon research purposes, I bought a PJJ and manually redo the shadow system to FW 9.2.0. Therefore, I want to try to manually upgrade the 10.0.2 lazy bag before the release of their own, by the way, but also for other people who need to step on the pit to provide an idea.

preparation

In fact, the preliminary preparation for the upgrade is also a retelling of the old talk, and the content required is not much, as follows:

  1. A supportAtmosphereNintendo Switch cracked (Hetake)
  2. The latest version of the Kosmos boot pack
    • Atmosphere Project Address:AtlasNX/Kosmos`
    • Note that the hekate bootstrap tool is included in the package, so if you're not sure what hekate is, check it out below.
  3. Latest version of Sigpatch-Installer
    • Sigpatch-installer Project address:HarukoNX/Sigpatch-Installer
  4. Latest edition of ES Patches.
    • ES Patches for 10.0.0+ FirmwareHarukoNX/Fusee.zip
    • Thanks to HarukoNX for the Sigpatch package integrated in Gbatemp
  5. Firmware upgrade tool ChoiDujourNX
    • Download address:ChoiDujourNX
    • Make sure you don't download it wrong. It's the one with the NX
  6. The latest Switch 10.0.2 Firmware:
    • Download address:The Firmware 10.0.2

steps

1. Back up the current Switch virtual system

For anyone who doesn’t have a thorough understanding of how Atmosphere works and read through the Atmosphere documentation, I would recommend a complete backup of the entire system before any system-level upgrades or fixes. If the system is too large, can consider only backup atmosphere, bootloader, sept the three folders.

Copy the latest Firmware folder to the SD card root directory

Decompress the downloaded Firmware 10.0.2 file to get a directory named Firmware 10.0.2. You can use nxTemp to copy the directory to the root directory of the SD card of the Switch.

Update the latest version of Kosmos

Remove the Switch of SD card atmosphere, bootloader, sept 3 folder, here I you are ready to related backup by default. Then copy all the files in the latest version of the Kosmos boot package

4. Use ChoiDujourNX to upgrade system firmware to the latest version

For details, see:

  • ChoiDujourNX usage video
  • How to use ChoiDujourNX
  • After the upgrade, the system will be restarted, and it is possible that when EMUMMC is properly booted using hekate, a red letter error will occur after entering Kosmos. This is normal. Please rectify the fault according to the actual error information. If the fault cannot be resolved, please leave a message in the comment section.

Update the SigPatch and ES Patch of the latest version

After entering the Kosmos virtual system, go to the Switch album, open sigpatch-Installer (@harukunx), and install the Sigpatch that matches the latest version as prompted. At this time, the system will enter the hekate boot again, and then enter the EMUMMC boot and enter the virtual system again. However, after entering the system, two pits are likely to be encountered:

  • Part of the installed programs or games, will occur [program damage] error, at this time need to delete the program ontology.
  • Error #2145-001 or #2002-4518 occurs when you install the NSP document again using GoldLeaf.
Error 2145-0001 (0x291)
Module: ETicket (145)
Description: Unknown or Undocumented error (1)
==================================
Error: 2002-4518 (0x234C02)
Modul: FS (2)
Description: Invalid NCA (Missing Sigpatches or too low firmware) (4518)
Copy the code

The above two errors are basically caused by the absence or exception of ES Patch or Sigpatch in the system. Since we have updated THE Sigpatch in this step, what we need to do later is to correctly update the ES Patches that match the 10.0.0+ firmware version. Unzip fusee. zip from the previous preparation and copy the contents to the Switch SD card directory according to the directory structure. After a reboot reboot the system can be correctly signed and installed NSP.
