I have been in Beijing for two years. Time slips by imperceptibly.

Two and a half years after graduation, I didn’t choose Beijing because I didn’t like the life without life.

Two and a half years later, I came to Beijing with a simple conviction that there was no turning back in my hometown. Two and a half years, three jobs, nothing, and friends to start a business, and finally no savings.

Two years of time let me from the beginning of the high school to the low point. At the beginning of the situation, the blow of their own began to doubt life. Look around, no one to support their own, believe in their own, even the most is to slander and ridicule. I can’t stay at home anymore.

IT took me one day to make a decision: to change my profession to study IT, and four months to go to Beijing.

Four months, for me, is very intense. At first I was very skeptical that I could learn a skill in four months that would allow me to survive.

At the beginning of programming, it is very painful, on the one hand, I do not know the knowledge, it is difficult to understand. Another is often on the Internet to see some Internet layoffs, career failure, self-study failure…… And so on the negative information, always hit my confidence, feeding my fear, anxiety in the spread of a little bit. The accumulated depression that the internal breath can not solve and narrate, once let me lose control of mood, even mild depression.

Sometimes he jokes about his own pain and troubles to my buck-toothed sister (my dog). But all she did was wag her tail and give me something to eat.

And sometimes even a painful one.

After three and a half months of closed study, and a week of mock interview.

On December 1st, I took G628 and arrived in Beijing. After a week’s interview, I got the offer smoothly. I joined Pactera. Hence the two previous posts:

When I just took over the real development work, I was not familiar with the development process and tools, and EVEN did not know how to communicate with colleagues about their needs. My heart is still very afraid, afraid of making mistakes, afraid of screwing up, more afraid of not competent work, and facing the risk of being dismissed probation.

Therefore, in order to get on the right track and complete the task as soon as possible, I always kept the status of being the first to arrive and the last to leave in the evening in the whole department.

In addition, after coming to Beijing, my friends took care of me, received me, provided me with a place to stay, and helped me solve code problems after work at night. I’m starting to get on the right track. Thank you!

The arrival of the epidemic in 2000 directly led to the end of the annual leave, so the whole group began to work remotely, which gave me a chance to consolidate my foundation in this time. While working from home, I consolidated the Vue family bucket again. After the outbreak, I was on my own when it came to requirements and bugs.

Everything’s getting better from there.

I told myself something had to be done. Don’t settle. Don’t settle.

After thinking, I think I have two directions to work on, one is output, do their own blog, the other is to continue to improve learning, a year later to change the environment.

Because I just stepped into this industry, there is no accumulation, the output is convenient, very weak, it may take two or three weeks or even a month to write a blog post. So I chose the second one: to continuously improve myself.

After that, I started the crazy absorption mode again.

In the past year and a half, I have read as many books as I did in the whole university. Some people may wonder, how do you have so much time to read so many books?

In fact, the method is very simple is to insist on reading every day, at least one chapter, some books before going to bed insist on reading a chapter, two weeks to finish a book, some books, read open can not put down, basically two or three days to finish, that is, a weekend time. Some books are to check, every problem, to turn over, unconsciously read several times. In this way little by little accumulation, there will be results.

Unfortunately, there are still some books that I have bought but have not read, resulting in a certain waste of resources and space. I even regret that I must finish these books this year. (/ω \)

• I came home from work at night and started learning algorithms.

After a whole year of preparation for 2020, I began to prepare for the interview in April of this year and in May of this year.

During the interview, I interviewed western Money Tank, Meituan, Sany Heavy Industry, Kangtai Life Insurance, Qiwu Company, Gaoto, Xiaomi, Douyin, Baidu, New Oriental and Didi. There are also some small factories.

In the process of CV delivery, due to the problem of personal CV (frequently changing industries), I have been unable to pass the CV screening of ali, Tencent, Kuaishou and other big factories. No chance to challenge a wave. Of course, I am also very grateful to the HR of each company who provided me with the interview opportunity or the big guy who helped me to promote.

Finally, after a month of interview, I got the offer from Gao Tu, Mi and Heqi Dance Company. The results were not ideal, but gratifying.

I joined Xiaomi on Children’s Day this year. On the first of this month, I just became a regular employee. Now look back, feel all the past is a landscape.

On the road

After I came to Xiaomi, I touched a lot of things for the first time. What impressed me most was the candidate interview, which was also the first time for me to interview candidates as an interviewer. During the interview, about 20 or 30 people were recruited from the school to the eldest brother who had worked for ten years and was in his thirties. It makes me feel different, too.

The most important thing is that I have the following experiences:

• Not only do you need to keep your passion and curiosity for technology, but also keep a state of continuous learning. This is really important, otherwise it is very likely to face the interview interviewer and you in depth chat, feeling that the candidate, just one year experience with many years, the final result is likely to face the state of unemployment at the age of 35.
• To improve their communication skills. This problem is actually easy to say, there is no clue to improve. I plan to read some relevant books and output some blog posts. Blogging is also a process of expressing and sorting out my thoughts, which is also very helpful.
• Broaden your horizons beyond the Chinese-speaking community and beyond technology. We all know that there are many excellent materials or first-hand materials, most of which are published abroad. By the time I see the Chinese version, I do not know how long it has been, and there is a certain lag. In addition, a person’s growth should be multi-faceted, and it is difficult for a person to spend his or her entire career in technology. Sooner or later, he or she may face a change of post or industry, at which time, other abilities may be very important, or not limited to the improvement of technology.

Here are a few things I want to do in the coming year:

To put it simply, learn as soon as you are young.

In the spring of 2020, I climbed Fragrant Hills for the first time. On the way up the mountain, I saw two father and son taking a cable car. The father was pointing to the distance, probably describing the future to the child next to him.

Xianglu Peak looks back and sees the city we live in and strive for.

When I returned home for the National Day of 2020, I felt deeply about the battlefield one year ago and took photos as a souvenir. The only thing I yelled at was the table (/ω \). It is now covered in dust.

2020 National Day, this is the first time I returned to my hometown after 14 months. After coming to Beijing, my hometown has been the place where I don’t want to go back and have to go back.

The buck-toothed sister of the family has become a mother. How delicious the two little ones are! I want to be a dog.

After eating milk, basking in the autumn sun to sleep. A dog has no worries.
