Spring Boot recently released its last major update of the year: Spring Boot 2.4.0.
Recently there has been some discussion in the community about the use of Spring Boot 2.4. I see a lot of Spring Cloud users who are also eager to try out the latest version of Spring Boot, and then run into some problems, the most common one being that the configuration doesn’t load.
I didn’t go into the details of how to fix this problem because, as mentioned in the release notes, Spring Boot 2.4 has made major changes to the handling of configuration files. If you simply use application.properties or application.yaml, So it’s seamless. More complex configurations, however, are likely to fail.
So, when you use Spring Cloud Config to manage configuration and loading, it’s easy to have this problem. At the same time, according to the relationship between Spring Boot and Spring Cloud version support, Spring Boot 2.4.x version itself does not have a corresponding Spring Cloud version.

Therefore, for Spring Cloud users, it is not recommended to apply Spring Boot 2.4.x immediately under the current time node. If you are also learning about Spring Cloud, I recommend you follow this free serial tutorial.
