The toolbar
The toolbar for Sketch covers all the tools you need for your creative process. By default, the first set of tools is for adding new layers: graphics, pictures, symbols, and so on.
Group and Ungroup can effectively ensure the organization of documents. Symbols let you reuse content quickly. In the next few chapters, you’ll see editing existing layers: Rotate, Transform, combining layers with Boolean operations, moving layers up and down in layer lists, adding grids and layouts, Sketch Mirror and local sharing.
The Export button at the end of the toolbar is also a slicing tool that allows you to Export your work as one or more bitmaps or vector shapes.
Unlike other drawing apps, Sketch places commonly used tools on the top toolbar instead of vertically aligned on one side, but if you need to, you can right-click the toolbar and go to “Customize toolbar…” (Customize toolbar…). Add tools by placing ICONS that do not appear in the toolbar above.
