1. Purpose of API testing
API testing is a type of software testing that analyzes application program interfaces (apis) according to detailed API documentation to verify whether they meet the expected function, security, performance, and reliability. This article describes how to quickly test interfaces with interface testing tools.
The following examples demonstrate API testing using the Eolinker tool. Use address: www.eolinker.com
2. Get request
A Get request is usually used to Get data from the server. For example, in a quick API test, three steps are required to complete the Get request: 1. Set the request mode to Get; 2. When the test is complete, Eoliner automatically displays the data returned by the server in the returned results at the bottom.
3. Post request
Post requests are used to send data to the server. The server receives the data, processes it, and returns the response result. For example, there is an API that can receive the requested data and return the same data. The operation procedure is the same as the GET request. Change the request mode to POST, and enter the corresponding URL, parameter name, and parameter value to initiate the test request.
You can also manipulate the data, such as doing MD5 encryption. Eolinker provides convenient constructor functionality for fast data processing. You can also write a pre – and post-script for complex processing of the data.
