On June 4, 2020, I finally finished the best video interview I’d had with a company in two months, and in 15 minutes we had nothing more to talk about. I don’t think I’m good enough for this job. The interviewer may think he has me figured out.
Let me look back at those fleeting 15 minutes:
Two minutes earlier, the interviewer arrived at the video site and gave us a friendly reminder to start by introducing ourselves.
I was nervous right from the start. I made a mess of introducing myself and didn’t have a point. But the interviewer was friendly and kept nodding and interacting with me, listening carefully to my rambling introduction. I felt guilty: I had wasted their time.
Then the interviewer asked me if I was looking for new opportunities. I said yes, I really want to work, see everyone in byte to work are very happy, I also want to become the pig on byte tuyere, I want to take off with byte —- I may have the potential of talk show.
Interviewer asks: What was the most rewarding aspect of your job? I answered: I brought two new employees, and encouraged them to actively put forward their own ideas, to try and error, more willing to inspire through encouragement, rather than criticism —— does this reflect my ability? I really gave myself up.
Here I began to dig a hole for myself:
The interviewer asked me about my work experience, focusing on my recent long work experience and the specific reason for leaving. I said I chose to change my job because of promotion consideration and salary increase. Then he was signed off by a company to save cost because of his high salary. I was punished. —– why do I say this to myself?
The interviewer asked me what I thought I needed to improve. I said I was introverted and would only bury my head in hard work without reporting work. However, now I have made targeted learning and improvement, so I am more outgoing and active in communication. —– I really cut myself short, but I’m being honest and there’s no packaging.
The interviewer kindly interrupted me and asked me how I had worked in my previous position and the time ratio of my four key projects. I briefly explained what I was doing at that time. I said that the work project with new employees accounted for the lowest ——– I just clearly also said that taking new employees is my most sense of achievement, why would I be so?
The interviewer continued to ask me my expected salary in a friendly and routine manner. I said that the salary was not important, but I focused on the platform of the company and hoped to reflect my value and develop together with the company. I also forgot to ask the salary range of —-, but the interviewer did ask me about my current salary.
As for the workplace, the interviewer confirmed with me whether he would prefer the city where his registered permanent residence is located. I said it doesn’t matter where you work, transportation is easy now. —- I do not know I so blindly cater to, will backfire.
Finally, the interviewer routinely asked me if I had any questions for her. I asked what the company was looking for in the position. The interviewer introduces the department where the position is located and the person to whom the position will be reported.
Then I asked what I could improve if I was lucky enough to get this position. The interviewer says that if you are lucky enough to get the position, you have already served the requirements of the position and you need to know the business. I feel like I’m done here.
Then I said that there was no problem at the moment, and the interviewer said that he would contact me if there was any further arrangement. That’s the end of the interview.
3. To summarize to the interviewer:
Be friendly and respectful throughout, and ask the next question according to the answers. Interviewers smile when they mention good things about the company.
They also change the subject appropriately to avoid embarrassment when the interviewer is giving a confusing answer or digging a hole for himself.
At the end of the interview, ask the candidate what salary they expect and where they will work, and give time for questions. The whole interview process is complete.
Summary of the interviewer:
Lack of preparation, whether due to video tension or strength preparation, performance is not complete.
In the process of answering, too low self-esteem, resulting in a vicious circle.
If the individual initiative humble, also give the interviewer trouble.
Message to myself:
Wish you one day, love yourself, be kind to yourself.
