Project background
Before the use of Grape City ComponentOne and Spread control products, power China construction engineering geological data collection is still using the traditional way that has been used for nearly a century.
With the development of information technology, data acquisition work is facing more and more severe challenges, mainly reflected in the following three aspects;
Lack of data collaborative management and analysis means
Most of the engineering geological data management and analysis work in the industry adopts the traditional decentralized organization mode. Although the informatization of data management and analysis has been partially realized, the means of data collaborative management and rapid analysis are still lacking.
The output of data results lacks the support of intelligent system
The output of survey results, especially the three-dimensional design work of engineering geology, lacks systematic background data support for the organization and utilization of data sources.
Data processing process, informatization, standardization progress is slow
At present, engineering geological survey information, three-dimensional computer applications still have many shortcomings, mainly reflected in the engineering geological survey data standardized processing, data collection, data management, data statistical analysis, data results and other methods are relatively backward, information progress is slow.
Core project Concept
Investigation and design of hydropower engineering involves survey, exploration, geology, civil engineering, dam engineering, water diversion, workshop, construction and many other majors. Engineering geology plays an important role in the stage of hub layout design and detailed design of engineering construction in the early stage of engineering. It is one of the necessary conditions to realize the 3d collaborative design system of hydropower projects to establish a 3D geological model that can meet the requirements of design accuracy by using topographic data and exploration data and input it into the design platform for direct use by design professionals.
Practical significance of the project
Since the reform and opening up, the market competition has become more and more fierce, and the working period of engineering geological survey has become shorter and shorter.
Engineering geology is in urgent need of a technical solution that can realize paperless field data collection, automatic data conversion from field results to internal data, systematic survey data management and intelligent data analysis. From the geological information data collection, storage, processing, analysis, mapping, as well as the establishment of three-dimensional geological model and the corresponding spatial analysis and decision-making process of the entire production process unified management, to achieve internal and external industry cooperation.
In order to solve the above problems, our institute proposed the project of “Hydropower Engineering Geological Collaborative Design System” based on the current situation of the industry and the actual situation of the survey specialty.

Actual Scenario Application
In this project, Spread table control was mainly used for data maintenance and results analysis (drawing statistical charts and generating statistical tables). The C1Ribbon control is used to simulate the layout effect of Office software, and the C1PDFViewer control is used to generate help documents.
The data input interface is mainly for standardized input of data collected in geological field, and input in the form of tables is convenient for data display and query. Cell types can be conveniently set in Spread to meet our requirements for data input of different types.
C1 control provides the theme effect of Office and unified interface style. The top toolbar is C1Ribbon control, which makes the system maintain a unified operation style with Office software and retain user habits, making it easier to use.
The following figure shows the data entry of our experiment, using Spread’s multi-table interface similar to Excel. The user is very familiar with the interface, simple operation, fast.
The following figure is the statistical graph generated by using C1Chart. The statistical graph shows a very beautiful effect. You can superimpose the statistical table on the statistical chart, drag the position of the statistical table at will; The statistical chart is displayed together with the statistical table to make the results more convincing.
Below for the use of Spread to generate statistics, you can customize multiple attribute group (e.g., according to the project site, rock, weathering degree branch), form their own formula function, can according to the basic data automatic calculation results data (such as mean value, standard, etc.) for the test standard, you can also define less than 3 groups don’t participate in calculation.
C1PDFViewer can easily connect to the generated PDF help documents, users can click to view the help at any time while operating the program, very convenient.
Value of vine Control products to the project
Spread control similar to Excel, internal integration of formula calculation, statistics, data grouping, data screening and other functions, more suitable for database management input platform. The system uses the data binding mechanism of Spread to directly display the data obtained from the data layer in the Spread table. Spread can automatically identify the data type and create the ColumnType table without any data processing operations.
ComponentOne not only has all the basic controls of Winform, but also provides a built-in Office style theme to beautify the appearance, C1Ribbon controls used to simulate the Office toolbar effect, retain the user’s use habits. C1PDFViewer and other controls add interactive controls of Word, Excel, PDF and other software to facilitate the import and export of results data.
