Front-end JavaScript framework

JavaScript has been widely used in front-end development for nearly two decades. Established architectures like React, Vue, and Angular have attracted a large following, and recently, a number of new competitors have successfully challenged all three frameworks. Here are the top five front-end frameworks for 2021:

1. React.js

In our list of the best JavaScript frameworks of 2021 compiled by Front-end Training, the top front-end class is React.js. React. Js is an open source front-end JavaScript library (not a full-blown framework) that was created in 2011 by the Facebook development team led by Jordan Walke and opened in June 2013. Its prototype, called FaxJS, was first tested on Facebook’s News Feed. React was arguably one of the biggest disrupters in the web development industry and a major breakthrough in shaping the web applications we see today.

\

React introduces a component-driven, functional, and declarative programming style that creates interactive user interfaces for mostly single-page Web applications. With the “virtual DOM,” React provides very fast rendering, requiring only the parts that change rather than the entire page. Another basic feature of React is that it uses simpler JSX syntax instead of JavaScript.

\

While learning React is a bit more complex than the other frameworks on this list, React has a large developer community, rich learning resources, and is widely adopted around the world.

\

In both Stack Overflow developer surveys and State of JS surveys, React has always topped the list of front-end JavaScript frameworks and remains the most popular front-end JavaScript framework. Airbnb, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, Twitter, WhatsApp and some of the world’s biggest companies and brands are all built with React. It would be safe to say that React.js is arguably the best JavaScript framework out there.

2. Vue.js

Vue.js is a lightweight, open source JavaScript framework that builds creative user interfaces and high-performance single-page Web applications with minimal effort.

\

Vue was first released in 2014 by Evan Yu, a Google developer who took inspiration from Angular and offered a simple, lightweight and efficient alternative in the form of vue.js. Vue gets a lot of features from React and Angular, but those features have been greatly improved to provide a better, easier to use, and more secure framework. Vue is the best example of this approach, providing two-way data binding as Angular sees it and the “virtual DOM” as React sees it.

\

Similarly, Vue is flexible enough to function as a complete end-to-end framework like Angular or as a stateful view layer like React. So, the main advantage of Vue is its incremental nature, which makes it simpler, easier to get started, and doesn’t impose too many restrictions to meet the needs of developers. Vue has exploded in popularity over the past two years, overtaking the complex dominance of Angular and React as the best JavaScript framework. Some of the world’s biggest companies, such as Adobe, Apple, BMW, Louis Vuitton and Nintendo, have adopted Vue.

3. Angular

Angular.js, Google’s open source, script-based framework for creating clients for single-page Web applications, is ranked third in the front end category of the 2021 Best JavaScript Frameworks list. Angular was created by Google engineers Misko Hevery and Adam Abrons in 2010 as AngularJS (or Angular 1). AngularJS was once widely known and popular, but React exposed its serious flaws and was forgotten. So in 2016, AngularJS was completely rewritten from scratch and renamed Angular 2 (or Angular for short).

\

AngularJS (Angular 1) was inspired by React. They have changed a lot, the most important being the shift from the MVW (Model-View-whatever) architecture to a component-oriented architecture like React. Angular is now the most secure JavaScript framework for building enterprise applications. Angular is used by more than a million websites, including Google, Forbes, IBM, and Microsoft.

4. Emberjs

Fourth place in the front end category on the list of the best JavaScript Frameworks of 2021 is ember.js. It is an open source JavaScript framework. Unlike the other frameworks we’ve mentioned, Ember uses the MVVM (Model-view-ViewModel) architecture.

\

Ember was originally a SproutCore 2.0 framework, renamed ember.js by Yehuda Katz, a veteran developer who is considered one of the main creators of jQuery. The most popular and basic feature of Ember is the Ember command-line interface, which is a powerful productivity tool in its own right.

\

Ember is one of the older JavaScript frameworks compared to React, Vue and Svelte, but it still has a huge user base at big companies like Microsoft, linkedin, Netflix and Twitch. It has a large customer base. Old friends like Backbone and Polymer have disappeared, but Amber continues to thrive in a passionate community.

5. Preact.js

In our list of the best JavaScript frameworks of 2021, preact.js ranks fifth in the front-end category. It’s a lightweight, fast, and powerful alternative to React (it’s not a complete framework). Preact was created by Jason Miller, a senior development project engineer at Google, and was used by some developers as a subset of React, with some features removed.

\

The basic principles of Preact.js are the same as React, a component-based approach that uses the virtual DOM, while being fully compatible with React.

\

You can also use the React package without compromising speed, performance, and simplicity. If you don’t need React’s full potential, most developers will use Preact during development or even switch to Preact in production. Preact is used by many large companies, including Tencent, Uber and Lyft.

conclusion

The frameworks listed in this list are by no means all of the frameworks required for JavaScript front-end development, but they make up the bulk of the frameworks used previously. As JavaScript functionality (through the ECMAscript process) continues to evolve, so does the potential for migrating framework functionality to the kernel.
