On June 1, the OpenAtom Foundation launched OpenAtom OpenHarmony 2.0 Canary.

OpenHarmony is an open source project incubated and operated by the Open Atom Foundation. It is operated by the OpenHarmony Project Group Working Committee of the Foundation. It follows Apache 2.0 and other open source protocols and aims to face the era of full scene, full connection and full intelligence based on the open source approach. Build an intelligent terminal equipment operating system framework and platform.

OpenHarmony 2.0 Canary is a standard version of OpenHarmony 1.1.0, with the following features:

  • 22 new subsystems, full OS capabilities, support for screen device development with memory greater than 128M, etc.
  • Provides three applications: desktop, Settings, and SystemUI.
  • New OpenHarmony application framework capabilities, Ability cross-platform Engine capabilities.
  • Provide JavaScript application development capability.
  • Provide media framework, support audio and video function development.
  • Provides graphics framework capabilities, supports window management and compositing, and supports GPU capabilities.

OpenHarmony 2.0 is not compatible with Android. The traditional terminal OS is mainly oriented to the single terminal. The system developed based on the OpenHarmony open source project is inherently oriented to the Internet of everything and can run on various intelligent terminals, large and small.
