1, Aliyun POLARDB

POLARDB is the first cloud native database independently developed by Alicloud in China, compatible with three database engines: MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle. Innovative designs such as separation of storage and computing and integration of software and hardware are adopted to meet cloud requirements in large-scale business scenarios.

POLARDB integrates Ganos spatio-temporal engine to accelerate the construction of spatio-temporal PaaS basic services based on attributy-time-space integrated data management, 4D mobile object modeling and spatial heterogeneous computing.

2. SuperMap GIS

SuperMap GIS is a large-scale geographic information system Software platform developed by Beijing SuperMap Software Co., Ltd., with completely independent intellectual property rights.

The newly launched SuperMap GIS 10I product has formed five technology systems of big data GIS, ARTIFICIAL intelligence GIS, new 3D GIS, cloud native GIS and cross-platform GIS “BitCC”. In the field of GIS basic software, China’s market share remains the first, with users in more than 100 countries and regions.

3. 1+3+N joint scheme

The cloud native spatio-temporal data management platform jointly developed by both parties includes 1+3+N layout:

1: Unified cloud native database and cloud native GIS, completed rigorous testing of nearly 600 GIS standard case databases, obtained compatibility certification of both sides, and provided strong basic software platform support for users to build an autonomous, flexible and highly available cloud native space-time big data management platform.

3: Three weighty features:

  1. It supports full-space modeling and spatio-temporal multi-mode, which can comprehensively manage all kinds of ground objects, such as surface and underground, indoor and outdoor, air/sky and spatio-temporal.
  2. The platform is highly compatible with Oracle and PostgreSQL, while GIS spatial data is compatible with Ganos and SuperMap interface access, existing applications can be smooth migration;
  3. The performance of dual-engine fusion is accelerated. SuperMap spatial data engine and Ganos space-time engine achieve the ultimate performance improvement through deep fusion.
N: Multi-form output:

Supports deployment in public cloud and private IDC environments. IDC supports output in private cloud, pure soft license, or POLARDB BOX, which fully meets security compliance requirements.

4. Different: “engine level” deep docking

In order to improve the query and analysis performance of GIS platform in ten million and one billion level spatial records, the in-depth fusion mode of “computing push-down” was adopted in the docking between the two platforms.

The spatial data engine SDX+ of SuperMap GIS platform directly pushes the spatial query and analysis calculation down to POLARDB. POLARDB uses spatial parallel query optimization and scheduling of cloud native spatio-temporal engine Ganos to achieve efficient model mapping, spatial index rapid filtering and calculation down of nearly 100 query analysis.

It has been verified by the practical application environment of a spatio-temporal information cloud platform that the performance has been improved exponentially compared with the traditional commercial database docking method.

5, conclusion

The deep integration of POLARDB and SuperMap implements aliyun’s integration strategy and complies with the platform strategy of “one horizontal and one vertical”.

Through “vertical integration”, that is, SuperMap with the help of technology integration POLARDB to improve the overall performance of the system and cross-database platform compatibility, and POLARDB with the help of SuperMap to broaden the breadth of space business capabilities.

Through brand superposition, the company has jointly created a platform ecology of spatio-temporal data services, providing ground-underground, indoor and outdoor leading and professional full-space digital solutions for jointly developing strong GIS digital applications such as digital government, urban brain, smart city/park/building. The integration of “one horizontal and one vertical” expands the “area” of spatial data services.
