Like to go up recently literature and art kind, inspirational kind of book, also probably recently I compare impetuous, suddenly think of university times read a novel “ordinary world”, then turned over “Lu Yao Biography”!
After reading Lu Yao Zhuan, I realized that the novels such as A Thrilling Scene, Life and Ordinary World were so closely related to Lu Yao’s life that I felt I needed to refer to Lu Yao zhuan to read these novels several times in order to understand them again.
After that, we don’t talk about lu Yao Zhuan written by Houfu. In this biography, we can clearly see how Wang Weiguo, a poor child born in Wangjiapu Village, Qingjian County, Suidi District, northern Shaanxi, struggled step by step to become the famous writer Lu Yao, and can feel a positive force.
After a bit of reflection, it is of great practical significance to find that lu Yao’s history of grassroots struggle decades ago can be used for reference in our personal development today.
Fateful moment no. 1: Finding a way to go to high school
Wang Weiguo was born on December 2, 1949 in a young farmer’s family named Wang Yukuan in Wangjiapu Village, Qingjian County, Suide District, northern Shaanxi. Because the family was too poor to raise a child and afford wang Weiguo’s education, wang weiguo’s parents adopted wang Weiguo to his uncle’s family “Dingmen” in Yanchuan, so that Wang Weiguo could have a chance to go to school.
Wang Weiguo settled down with his uncle Wang Yude and went to primary school. But to take an examination of junior high school, Wang Yude also can’t afford to read for him, he ordered the death, do not let up.
The Wang Weiguo right now had his idea, resolutely want to read, he disregards the dead command of adoptive father Wang Yude, attended the small rise early unified examination of the whole county, with the result of the second place in the whole county was admitted by Yanchuan middle school. But because foster father does not give raise registration fee, cannot report. He went back to the village to find the village brigade party branch secretary Liu Junkuan, Liu Junkuan by personal influence in the village to borrow two dou of black beans to Wang Weiguo, let him sell for money to sign up.
Wang Weiguo sold black beans for money, but the report time passed a week, yanchuan middle school was expelled. Wang Weiguo went back to the village again to find Liu Junkuan, Liu Junkuan went to the school to find the headmaster, begged the headmaster, Wang Weiguo was exceptionally accepted into the school.
Take the initiative to get to know the poet Guxi in the rival camp
And myself during the cultural revolution in 1969, mark ong, led by the “red fields” rival “red one” camp poet GuXi reconciled, GuXi see mark ong in write posters during the cultural revolution and fighting talk very well-written, think he is a talent, two people set up the “teachers” friendship, mark ong opens the literary way from now on. In the following years, Cao Guxi gave Wang countless help and support all the way.
On August 13, 1971, Wang Weiguo’s poem “MY Old man Just Wants to Run” was recommended by Cao Guxi and published in Yan ‘an Newsletter (Yan ‘an Daily), which was wang Weiguo’s first published work.
When wang Weiguo published his two poems “Car Crossing Nanjing Bridge” and “The Willow On the Wall”, the poet reminded him that it was inappropriate to use the pen name “Ying Yi Hong”. After some consideration, Wang Weiguo adopted “Lu Yao” as the pen name.
Lu Yao was guxi to think of a way to transfer into yanchuan County revolutionary committee communications group, and then they edited and published together “Yan ‘an Mountain flowers” poetry collection, and then founded the county literary tabloid “mountain flowers”. During this period, Lu Yao’s poems, essays and novels all started in Mountain Flowers.
Lu Yao’s short story “Winning the Red Flag” was selected into the provincial literary publication “Shaanxi Literature and Art” in 1973, which was the first time that Lu Yao’s works were officially published in the provincial literary publication. Lu Yao became a celebrity for his literary creation, and his story was reported in Shaanxi Daily.
With literary creation ability to go to college, into the “Shaanxi Literature and art” editorial department
In the summer of 1973, colleges and universities across the country generally resumed enrollment, the implementation of recommended selection system.
Yanchuan county culture and education bureau recommends lu Yao, who has literary expertise, to the Chinese department of Beijing Normal University and the Chinese department of Shaanxi Normal University, all because Lu Yao was once the “red four wild” all-powerful “Wang Junchang” and was rejected. Later, the county bureau of Culture and Education came to Yan ‘an University with his work, and with the help of Shen Resistant, the communist Party secretary of the county who had approved the “Shanhua” tabloid newspaper, lu Was admitted by yan ‘an University at political risk.
Lu Yao yan university Chinese department has a clear purpose, is to deepen literary literacy, so during the school a lot of reading, writing, adhere to their own literary expression.
“Shaanxi Literature and Art” was the first provincial literature publication to be republished during the “Cultural Revolution” except “Literature and art of the Liberation Army”. Shaanxi literature lovers must cross this “bridge” to enter the literary world. Before entering Yan ‘an University, Lu Yao published his short story “Winning the Red Flag” in the first issue of Shaanxi Literature and Art in 1973, which was the first story lu Yao published in provincial literature journals.
With this novel, Lu Yao had many opportunities.
In October 1973, the editorial department of Shaanxi Literature and Art convened a creative symposium. Lu Yao was invited to participate in the symposium. He got to know the young poet Shen Xiao, the young writer Bai Miao and others, and the well-known editor Dong Mo. Dong Mo felt that Lu Yao was talented and invited him to intern in the editorial department of Shaanxi Literature and Art.
During lu Yao’s internship in the editorial department of Shaanxi Literature and Art, he has unique taste in appreciation, outstanding taste in literature, and is ready to help others. He is quick and good at soliciting contributions and writing articles, which has won the recognition of the editorial department.
The one-year internship experience laid a foundation for Lu Yao to enter shaanxi Literature and Art after graduation, and also provided many high-quality resources for Lu Yao’s creation and publication. His essays “Silver flowers” and “Bright Lights” and his short stories “Father and Son” were published in Shaanxi Literature and Art.
When Lu yao graduated in 1976, the education department stipulated that “she comes and she goes”, or “she goes where she comes from”. Therefore, Lu yao could be assigned to the creative team of the Yan ‘an regional cultural museum, but he wanted to work in a provincial literary unit. Several editors in charge of shaanxi Literature and Art recognized Lu Yao as a good seedling and made up their mind to hire him. They went to the provincial Education bureau several times, and chief editor Wang Pixiang and deputy chief editor He Shuyu went to the Yan ‘an Regional Education Bureau and the leaders of Yan ‘an University, and finally transferred Lu Yao.
Published “A Thrilling Scene”, became a nationally renowned writer
Lu Yao became the editor of Yanhe (Shaanxi Literature and Art restored the original title of Yanhe in July 1977), a provincial literary journal. He wrote diligently and published his novel “The Man Who Can’t Write Poetry” in the first issue of Yanhe in 1978.
This time, Chen Zhongshi, Jia Pingwa began to cut a figure.
At the end of 1978, China Writers’ Association entrusted the editorial department of People’s Literature to select the first National Excellent Short Story Award, and The window by Mo Shen, a new man from Shaanxi province, and The Full Moon by Jia Pingwa won the prize. Lu Yao was greatly shocked, so he adjusted his writing strategy, broke through the scar literature and introspection literature routine at that time, and carefully created the novella “A Thrilling Scene” with advanced thoughts.
However, the novel suffered many setbacks and major literary journals were reluctant to publish it, so Lu Yao spent days waiting for publication with anxiety and suffering. At that time, shaanxi writers were on the rise. Chen Zhongshi’s short story “Trust” and Jingfu’s “Walking Stick” won the National Excellent Short Story Award in 1979 and 1980 respectively. So far, four authors from Shaanxi have won national awards, but Lu Yao’s work was still rejected by various publications as “not in line with the popular views and trends at that time”.
Just when Lu yao was completely frustrated, a dramatic moment came when his last major magazine, Contemporary, called to ask him to change the story in Beijing.
Later, “A Thrilling Scene” was first published in the third issue of Contemporary magazine in 1980, and was recommended by Qin Zhaoyang to win two prestigious awards in succession: the First National Award for Excellent Novella; Honorable mention in contemporary Literature 1979 ~1981.
Lu Yao became a famous writer in China!
Five steps of grassroots struggle
Lu Yao’s struggle can be summarized in the following five steps:
- Anchor an area that you enjoy and can do well with practice
- Create a bright spot, preferably one of those
- Build on your highlights and take chances to get into the circles you need to move towards your future goals
- Keep acting, practice deliberately, never give up, and speak with key pieces
- Do what you have to do
These are also the proverbs for our young people. The only thing we need to pay attention to is that there are more external temptations at present, we are more likely to be impetuous, it is difficult to settle down to polish themselves into a sharp weapon, avoid arrogance, impetuous.
