One and a half years ago, I started job hopping, interviewing 15 companies in total. In March and April of 2021, I interviewed 6 companies and got offers from 5 of them, so I have some experience in job-hopping.

After entering the company, I served as a technical interviewer for the purpose of building a team and interviewed nearly 20 people. This time, from the perspective of job seekers to interviewers, Yan Qing will be combined to share some small experience.

You’ve all heard of listing your digital accomplishments on your resume.

I have a friend whose work experience is not prominent on his resume, but his project experience mentioned his contribution to product quality control and improvement of testing efficiency.

Education background and certificates

There is a graduate school recruitment resume, the educational background must write undergraduate and graduate two experiences, right, people who have job hunting experience, will put the graduate section in front of the undergraduate.

Usually not, let HR see the resume first, gee, this candidate is a graduate student! I’ll have to keep an eye on it. Take a second look at my resume.

At the same time, there are certificate modules on her resume, and she has written cet-4 certificate, CET-6 certificate, probationary Party member, and a software copyright.

How would you arrange your priorities? Must have put the gold ones first, right?

That is, software copyright first, and then cet6 certificate. Probationary Party members may not even write one.

The resume matches the job requirements

Some friends are, on the resume directly list all the projects that have been involved in the past, the technology that has been used, whether the company needs it or not, anyway write down, a resume to each job application to the sea.

In fact, the more closely your resume matches the company’s requirements, the better your chances of getting an interview. HR usually selects the resume according to the keywords of the job. It is suggested to customize the resume for the desired company, close to the job requirements, and optimize the resume.

For example, if you’re applying for a Java position, your resume should only show how good your Java skills are and what projects you’ve done using the Java stack.

You may have used other programming languages, but Java is the host. Other languages should be mentioned, but not too much.

Moreover, for the desired company, according to the intended position JD, adjust the content of the resume, improve the matching degree.

For example, if the job application mentioned that experience in e-commerce and test development was needed, I could highlight my experience in e-commerce and test development in the resume I prepared for this company.

HR and the interviewer, they look at the resume and they think, you’re the candidate they’re looking for, they have to bring you in for an interview, it’s their loss if they don’t show up.

Think about how much less impressive it will be if you include the title of your resume and the position in the body that the company isn’t even hiring for.

4) Resume optimization

1. Don’t think you can put together a resume in an hour or two and start your job search.

It is recommended that after you write your resume, you also read it to a few close friends and ask them to help you optimize it from the perspective of a third party.

Fix any resume problems that HR might spot first.

2, The interview has already begun, do you need to modify the resume?

A job change is not a one-time job interview, if the interviewer is interested in what you have on your resume or has questions.

Two, conduct an interview

A) Before the interview

What is the most important thing before an interview? Resume preparation, we’ve talked about that, but that’s only part of the story.

We should be mostly technical positions. You’re probably familiar with some of the techniques you use at the company, but they’re not the only ones you’re looking for.

For example, the work does not necessarily use the idea of algorithmic questions, but, gee, in the interview, a lot of companies, it likes to examine algorithmic questions.

So, our first preparation, is to compare the technical requirements of the company, their own leakage.

How do you know the technical requirements of the company?

The first is to look at the job description carefully, and the second is to collect as many interviews as possible with the company, if you can find the same position, so much the better.

The next thing to do is to write your own answers, or collect answers to interview questions.

So you need to review in advance, think about it, prepare your answers. One is sufficient preparation lets the interview be more sure of, on the other hand, also was to review the knowledge again.

If you don’t prepare in advance, you will have a little regret when you come to the interview, even if the answer is right.

4. Prepare algorithms and logic questions in advance

Of course, some companies may not torture these 2 types, we still in accordance with the actual requirements of the company, for orientation preparation.

Two) in the interview

1. Don’t be the first company you want to work for

To tell the truth, Yanqing 2019 interview, preparation for more than half a year, so full of confidence, directly delivered the most favorite company.

Unexpectedly, my attitude was unstable and I attached great importance to such an interview opportunity. I was very nervous during the interview, which greatly affected the interview.

Encounter the interviewer put forward a topic that has not prepared completely, the in the mind is very flustered, can’t start the spot thinking at all. Needless to say, the result is hung up.

As someone who hasn’t interviewed for a long time, the first interview usually doesn’t go very well.

Yanqing interviewed last year, and only the first company did not pass. Again, prove from experience that your favorite company is not in the first place.

Most want to go to the company, the first to interview, if the direct interview failed, very blow, equivalent to directly cut off the expectations of this job. If not stepped on this pit, wild goose qing also unapt face 2 quarters.

Try the candidate company first, find the feeling of interview, but also can practice their interview oral expression.

2. Don’t be nervous

As mentioned above, Yanqing was very nervous at the initial interview because she had not had an interview for two years.

In the 2019 interview, even though I had a bad start and lost my hope of success in job-hopping, Yanqing continued to interview, just relying on more interviews to solve the problem of yanqing’s nervousness on the spot.

Feel nervous to continue to face, so yan Qing interviewed a total of 9, to the end, really completely will not interview nervous.

Looking back now, an interview is really just a conversation, just normal communication. I have also been an interviewer, and I was nervous when I met a candidate. Of course, I hope the other party can calm down and express normally as soon as possible.

Think about it, if Yanqing do interview to share with you live, said he was very nervous, ready to say the content, we will do?

“Don’t be nervous,” I’m sure. Just take a break and share normally, without the pressure. That’s the same thing in the interview scenario.

Dare to try, dare to say

Yanqing as an interviewer, because it is a foreign company, the general will encourage candidates to do an English self-introduction. If the English introduction is prepared, I will try to answer the candidate in English.

However, some candidates say that their English is not very good, and they dare not speak English at all during the interview, which really affects the interview result, and they dare not hire you at all.

There are some open-ended questions that you are not good at, but you should be brave enough to answer them and at least show the interviewer that you are brave enough to try.

Find alternative companies

Number one: The first person to interview with a candidate company. There aren’t many alternatives by then. What should we do?

You can even start by interviewing potential companies in other cities. Often cross-city interviews are conducted remotely, without the need to go to the site.

Of course, it’s best to choose a city that’s relevant to your background. For example, the city where you went to college, the provincial capital of your hometown, and so on, the logic makes sense.

5. No time for interviews

Now most of the interview to several rounds, no time to interview, how to do?

Tip 1: Mock the interview

Conduct a mock interview with a friend, or someone you think would be good at interviewing.

In Yanqing’s company, short outings are allowed. The specific approach is to go to a nearby cafe or quiet milk tea shop to complete the interview after an hour or so.

If it affects the work, take the initiative to work overtime, or finish the task in advance.

After the interview

1. Record interview questions

Because she has accumulated a lot of interview questions during her nine interviews in 2019, Yanqing will often be asked similar questions when interviewing different companies.

The interviewer will ask questions based on your skills and resume.

After taking notes, it became clear to me, a test engineer with five years of experience, what technical questions would be asked and what questions would be asked about my project experience.

Therefore, it is equivalent to doing an open-book exam, knowing what questions are likely to be asked, and specifically preparing for orientation. It’s hard not to pass an interview.

2. Recheck optimization

You may not have answered every question perfectly.

There must be stumped questions, or not very good performance, or even the interviewer after listening to the project introduction questions, continue to ask questions.

Well, that interview has already helped you figure it out. If you can’t answer the technical questions and extension questions, go to search and supplement your study. If next time ask again, fall in the same place, think all regret!

By asking questions, you can also think deeply about your project and why the interviewer would want to know more about these aspects of your project than you originally prepared.

For example, there are many major automated testing frameworks. What is the unique advantage of the framework you are currently using compared to other solutions on the market?

The interviewer will want you to have researched and understood various options before making a big decision. Finally, why is the selected technical solution most suitable for the company’s project situation?

If the technical problems and project experience have been reviewed and optimized, the success rate of the next interview must have a greater probability!
