It has been almost two months since the last post, and I have been busy with the autumn recruitment recently. Today is October 22, 2018, for the Internet industry, the autumn recruitment is basically over. I have finished the process (no longer written test/interview), so here to write about my autumn recruitment experience ~

This autumn trick can be said to have gained a lot:

• Successfully received 4399, Vipshop and other dozens of companies thank you letter, successfully joined the talent pool!
• With a number of well-known enterprises in Guangzhou colleges and universities face to face communication, and obtained enterprises exquisite small gifts!

I. Interview opportunities/offers available for autumn recruitment

Background: Sanben, Guangzhou, no competition experience during school. A small company internship experience, the only bright spot may be my blog.

I sent a lot of resumes in autumn recruitment and got the following interview opportunities:

• Ali (push inside -> one side hanging)
• Quick hand (push inside -> Side hanging)
• Guangzhou Moms Network (Written test -> Group quiz)
• Mogujie (push inward -> through three sides -> get the Letter of intent)
• Guangzhou Samsung Research Institute (written test -> interview in one afternoon -> pass all interviews -> know that the final test will be taken by machine -> give up the opportunity)
• Fluent speaking (written test -> three rounds of interview -> get the offer)
• Where to go (written test -> notice to go to Changsha for on-site interview -> give up the opportunity)
• Convenience bee (written test -> three rounds of interview -> Get offer)
• 4399(on-site information session -> get interview pass card -> one side hanging)
• Mi (written test -> get interview -> Time conflict -> give up opportunity)
• I also met some (guangzhou/Shanghai) (entrepreneurial/traditional industry) companies, and finally refused the next round of interview opportunities (some offers).

Two, the real autumn move

I’m under a lot of pressure.

Specific timeline:

• From the middle of July, I began to pay attention to niuke’s autumn recruitment information.
• Ali started the first interview, and Pinduoduo started the first written test.
• Until the end of October autumn recruitment. (All the offers were confirmed at the end of October)

It can also be seen from the above, I can be said that the whole autumn recruitment interview opportunities are very few, but the number of my resume delivery is very large.

From mid-July to mid-September:

• At that time, the interview opportunities may be 5 or 6, looking at the Niuke network has many big guys (” gods “) have received letters of intent (offer). At this point, I only interviewed a few companies, and there was no follow-up. So at that timeQuite urgent.
  • As long as the cattle passenger network appeared in the push information, I have delivered
  • During the major factory by the pen test blood abuse. I have tried to take online written exams of 4 companies in one day.
• Later, I thought it would not work, because there were too few interview opportunities. Therefore, I went to Zhihu to search “What are the Internet companies worth joining in Guangzhou?” and searched one by one on 51job.com / 51job.com.   • A week later, I received only one interview. Finally, I was crushed by the major’s education and internship experience in the group
• At the same time, the information sessions began. (At the beginning, I didn’t plan to go to the information meeting, because I was bombarded by the pen test questions from various factories, and I didn’t have any interview opportunities.imagineIt might be easier to write the test paper offline, hoping to get more interview opportunity)
  • I still have trouble running to talk shows:
    • I, the general location of the information meeting in Guangzhou University town, from my school in the past nearly 3 hours, nearly 6 hours back and forth. After lunch at 11:30, I went to the 3 o ‘clock information meeting by bus and subway. After the information meeting, I went back to school after 8 o ‘clock.
    • Second, when running for the information meeting, the people who attend the information meeting are basically big wigs from CUHK, Chinese Engineering and Guangdong Engineering, who are shivering on the signing list of the information meeting.
    • Third, there are also enterprises in the information conference clearly pointed out: “XXX post can be reduced to non-985, 211 education, but other posts still hope to recruit smart people”. Off the court, I knew it had been another day in vain.
    • Four, some enterprises say that there is a preliminary test, after going to find: two hours of lecture, 5 minutes of interview.
    • I also held two publicity meetings in one day, one at 3:00 PM in Guangwai (University Town Campus) and the other at 7:00 PM in Guangwai (Baiyun Campus). It was already 6:50 when we hurried to Baiyun Campus after the lecture of university Town campus. Haven’t had time to have a meal to start again, finally by the pen test blood abuse has been more than 9 o ‘clock. In the unfamiliar campus followed the flow of people out of the school gate, found that he had missed the last bus back to school ~
• And now I think about it myselfHeart big: Received an interview opportunity to go to where with 0 offers and knew you needed to goOn-site interview in Changsha. I declined at the time (hoping to interview by phone/video)
  • But then I found out that a lot of people take high-speed trains to various cities for interviews…

Hope before National Day: mogujie, which had been thought to have died, was notified of hr interview two days before National Day.

From mid-October till now:

• In the middle of October to get mogujie’s letter of intent, mental calculation is a bit more stable down. (But the letter of intent does not necessarily mean an offer, and I have seen cases where there is a letter of intent but no offer on the Internet [other companies])
• At the same time, I got the interview opportunity, and I got the offer in the first two days. (Convenience bee interview efficiency is really good, over a week)
• When I got the second interview last week (three weeks after the first interview), I thought I had failed. After being abused by the second interviewer, HR told me that I still passed the interview and got the offer today.

Ps: It is a pity that I failed to get the offer from Guangzhou/Shenzhen. I would also like to thank Benilibee/Mushroom Street/Fluent for giving me the opportunity ~

Three, autumn/spring recruitment preparation

This section is for students who have not experienced autumn/spring recruitment

With my personal autumn recruit experience (Java direction) to give you some advice, only for reference.

I also wrote about my experience of looking for Java internship in Guangzhou and posted the interview process in detail. Although I have recorded the interview questions, I am not going to post them. Because the net is really a lot of face classics, search a lot of cattle guest net ~~

I summarize a few points:

• Understand the process of autumn recruitment/spring recruitment on the Internet in advance. Knowing exactly when the time is,Who is the audience.
  • Why is the 2018 autumn recruitment not for 2018 graduates, but for 2019 graduates? It is clear that the 2019 students still have so long to graduate ah..
  • If you are a junior this year, you should also know about the spring recruitment in 2019. Many enterprises will recruit interns who will graduate in 2020 in the spring recruitment in 2019. (I missed my spring recruitment internship this year). Of course, the 2019 spring recruitment is mainly aimed at 2019 graduates.
• Foundation: operating system/computer network/data structure and algorithm/database
  • I believe that many students may refer to “Want to be a programmer, how to enter?” “, some people will give such a view: “Language is just a tool, learn computer or basic, operating system/computer network/data structure and algorithm/database to understand these can go further.
  • From the perspective of campus recruitment: operating systems/computer networks/data structures and algorithms/databases can be very difficult if you have not reviewed or understood the concepts (I am a typical example).. Because the written exams are almost all about these knowledge points, the specific language (such as Java) is less important.
• Education is important, but food is the original sin. A good school background is a possibilitymeansResumes don’t get brushed easily,meansUnder the same ability, the chance of employment can be much higher (no written test, direct interview… Etc.). In my opinion, this is fair (she scored 100 points higher than you in the Sats, what were you doing then?
  • In the Internet industry, a degree is still relatively less important. For example, the first and second tier Internet companies in China, baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, Toutiao, Meituan and Didi, all gave me the opportunity to write the written test. It’s just that I’m too bad to do it (again, operating systems/computer networks/data structures and algorithms/databases are really important). I have few interview opportunities, that is, the written test is bad (can not be completely attributed to the degree)
  • Improve your skills as much as possible.
• Plus: Practical project experience (internship experience), technical blog (GitHub open source project), school competition experience, degree
• Adjust the mentality, insist, come on.

Computer Network:

• HTTP (including HTTP version differences and HTTPS principles)
• The entire process from browser address input to response (the more detailed the better, this problem can cover the entire computer network)

Data structure and algorithm:

Generally speaking, school enrollment is based on fundamentals. If time is not enough for students, it is not recommended to learn too much framework, or the basic. The use of these frameworks may not be so important for school admissions, and learning can be time-consuming.
