Linux is introduced

Linux: whether or not we learn programming will certainly have heard of such a system, generally, we are in the PC side are using Windows operating system, that we learn Linux operating system what use??

Because our JAVAEE program is generally deployed to the Linux system, that we are learning JAVAEE, must understand Linux, as a computer, understand Linux is also very should.

Why aren’t JAVAEE programs deployed on our common Windows systems?? Because Windows policies are generally single-user.

  • Single user [only one user can log in to a system at the same time]

And our Linux system is multi-user, which makes it a great server…

The characteristics of

  1. Open source, multi – user network operating system
  2. Based on Unix (Unix –>minix–> Linux (Linus: Linus Finland)), you can customize the kernel
  3. Joined the GNU Organization (free software Organization, copyLeft) and distributed under the GPL (General Public License)

Linux composition

  1. Linux kernel (managed by Linus team)
  2. Shell: Interface between user and kernel
  3. File system: Ext3, ext4 Windows fat32, NTFS
  4. Third-party applications

Linux OS version

  1. Kernel version (managed by Linus team)
  2. Distribution: Some software companies make distributions based on the kernel, with additional software and documentation
    • Red Hat: RHEL, centos
    • Debian: Debian, Ubuntu (Desktop)
    • android

Common Operating Systems

  • Server operating system: Linux, Unix, Windows Server
  • Single OS: Windows (DOS, UCDOS, Win95, Win98, Win2000, XP, Vista, Win7, Win8) MAC, Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Mobile operating system: Android, IOS, Windows Phone

Installing the Linux Environment

In general, when we learn, we don’t need to install another Linux system, which is too expensive, so we use virtual machines.

vmware

First, we need to install vmware software, which is used to create virtual machines

With the installation complete, we are now on the vmware home page

Vm Installation

We downloaded an Ubuntu image and just installed it! Nothing noteworthy, just keep clicking next!

Vmware will then automatically install the image for us

Once installed, you’re in Ubuntu

It’s in Ubuntu

Linux basic directory structure

  • Bin Stores binary executable files (ls,cat, mkdir, etc.)
  • Boot stores various files used for system boot
  • Dev is used to store device files
  • Etc stores system configuration files
  • Home The root directory where all user files are stored
  • Lib holds shared libraries and kernel modules needed to run programs on the file system
  • MNT Installation point for system administrator to install temporary file systems
  • The location where optional application packages for opt additional installation are placed
  • Proc Virtual file system that holds the current memory mapping
  • Root Superuser directory
  • Sbin stores binary executable files that can be accessed only by root
  • TMP is used to store various temporary files
  • Usr stores system applications. Important directory /usr/local Indicates the installation directory of the local administrator software
  • Var is used to store files that need to change data at run time
