Install Ubuntu 19.10 with VMware15.5 Pro

This article describes how to build Ubuntu on Windows10 using Vmware virtual machines, from download to install nanny level tutorials.

Download VMware15.5

First we need to download the virtual machine VMware15.5

Select Workstation 15.5 Pro for Windows and click Download Now to Download. Do not use a browser to Download

Install VMware

One caveat here is that the virtual machine is best installed on a solid state drive, not a mechanical hard drive. Because the virtual machine is a frequently read and write hard disk program, put in the mechanical hard disk will affect the speed, very slow. Some friends may consider the size of the disk space, simply install Ubuntu does not use 20GB of space, so do not worry about this aspect. If you’re running out of space on a solid state drive, a mechanical hard drive is a better option, not the only one.

Select an installation location. You are advised to install it on an SSD

Click Install, and the computer will restart

Open Vmware and enter the license key

Download the Ubuntu image file

Either 18.04.4 or 19.10 will work. Here I’m using 19.10. Click Download to start the Download

Creating a VM

Click Create VM

Select typical, next step

Select Install OS later, next step

Select the Linux version select Debian 10.x 64-bit

You are advised to name the VM on a SOLID-state disk. Go to the next step

If the disk capacity is 20GB, the disk capacity can be expanded even if the disk capacity is not enough, you can split the virtual disk into multiple files

Click finish

Click Edit virtual machine Settings

2GB of ram is enough, so if you have 8GB of RAM you can go to 3GB, if you have 16GB you can go to 8GB, but you don’t have to, so I gave it 4GB

The processor
