JetBrains buckets

JetBrains series is my favorite and most frequently used development tool. In my work, I write Java with IDEA and front-end with WebStorm.

As a full-stack developer, it is often necessary to write code in different languages or technology stacks, so I prefer to use a large and comprehensive set of development tools. JetBrains’ products cover almost all programming languages, and the style, keys and usage of each sub-product remain the same. When switching languages, you do not need to learn the use of new development tools, and you can install a variety of plug-in extensions, which is worthy of long-term trust.

For development tools, a person’s opinion and usage habits, there is no need to fight who is good or bad. VSCode is also very powerful, relatively lightweight, and I use it occasionally.

Sublime Text

The JetBrains family of development tools, while powerful, is so heavy that it can take a few minutes to start a project.

Sometimes I just need to open a single text file, like looking at a log or something, and it’s overkill to open JetBrains on its own. Therefore, I chose the extremely lightweight Text editor Sublime Text to view and record small files or projects.

Software is basically seconds open, but also support a variety of plug-ins, very powerful!

Alfred

Programmers can’t do their jobs without copy-pasting. Did you know that copy-pasting can be tricky too?

With Mac Alfred (or Ditto on Windows), you can record everything you’ve copied over a long period of time, selectively pasting. In addition, you can search for replication history and view replication details.

uTools

Very powerful toolset software, supporting Mac and Windows operating systems, built in a lot of productivity tools, such as a one-click search of all files on your computer, screenshots, translations, etc. The software adopts plug-in design, which can install the required functions independently, keeping the software light and small.

iTerm2

As a developer, I often need to use terminals, but the Mac terminals are too difficult to use, so I chose iTerm2, a powerful terminal with a complete set of features, simple and beautiful. With Zsh + Oh My Zsh, you can customize a variety of cool themes and use more powerful functions to make typing commands pleasant and comfortable.

Navicat Premium

Database management tools support all operating systems, let you manage almost all mainstream database management systems (such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.) in a single software, but also very easy to write and execute SQL statements, import and export data, etc. Background developers must!

The fly in the ointment, though, is that you have to charge for it, and you need some means to use it.

There are a lot of things every day, only by the brain to remember is really can not hold, always forget or miss some things, so a time management software is very necessary.

I prefer tick-tock lists, with a streamlined interface, multi-sync support, easy to use and free, and that’s enough for me.
