This option applies to earlier versions of IDEA 2019.2. The following functions are enabled by default.
Surround a selection with a quote or brace
By default, the selected text is replaced by the entered character.
If we want to enter double quotes to reference selected characters, the selected characters will be replaced with double quotes, awkwardly 😰. In this case, you have to enter double quotes first and then cut and paste the selected characters into double quotes.
In IDEA, there is an option to improve. Setting | Smart keys to select Surround a selection with a quote or brace.
By default, this selection is not selected. If the selected text is saved, it will be enclosed by quotation marks or parentheses if it is not replaced.
Jump outside the closing bracket or quote with Tab
This option allows you to quickly pop out using Tab after entering quotes or parentheses.
This option is also Setting | Smart keys to open. This option is not selected by default. By default, the TAB character is entered after the quotation marks are entered.
