I heard Python is going to be the top programming language on TIBOBE?
June 2021 TIOBE Index: Programming Languages released. In the top 10 list, C, Python, and Java still occupy the top three positions respectively.
In November 2020, Python briefly edged out Java to number two on the list; Python struck again in May, taking second place again, and is now number two on the list as of June. Take a look at the June list:
As you can see from the chart above, Python has never been this close to the top spot. The gap between C and Python, the current number one programming language, is now just 0.7 percent.
In this month’s list, the gap between Python, the no. 2 language, and C, the no. 1 language, is narrowing, from 1.51% last month to 0.7% this month. With a mere 0.7 percent difference, TIOBE officially predicts Python will soon take over the top spot on TIOBE’s list.
Also: Perl rose to No. 15 this month from No. 19 last month; Swift moved up two places to no. 16; Go slipped, falling from 16th place last month to 20th place this month.
Next month, the TIOBE index celebrates its 20th anniversary. Programming languages C and Java were the only two languages to rank first in the 20 years. So if Python were to take over the top spot in the TIOBE index, it would certainly be a historic moment and something to celebrate.
Take a look at the historical rankings:
As you can see from the chart above, C and Java have been the top two in the field for the past 20 years.
The top three on the list this month are C at number one, Python at number two, and Java at number three.
Let’s take a look at the 10-year trend of the Programming language TIOBE index. It can be seen that the top three languages on the list are very similar in their trends, and there is not much difference between them. It’s worth noting that in recent months the TIOBE list has become a battle ground between Python and Java. Python has beaten Java to second place since May.
I put the top three index trends separately down ↓↓↓
C language TIOBE index trend
C language, from the age of development, C language is definitely the big brother, in 1972, C language was born.
Because C language has higher running efficiency (compared with C#, JAVA, etc.), it is widely used as the underlying driver of computer, including most of the underlying code of operating system is written in C language.
At the same time, many terminal devices in Internet of Things rely on C language in terms of CPU running speed (efficiency) and storage resources. With the rapid development of the Internet of Things, it also further drives the activity of C language.
However, it may be because the popularity of C language is not so high and the grammar is not so simple, so C has been declining in the last half year.
Python TIOBE index trend
You’ve seen Python, and you’ve seen it everywhere in recent years. Cell phones, television, newspapers, billboards in neighborhoods, and even elementary school students are learning Python.
The reason is simply that Python is more widely used and relatively easy to get started with.
Python was designed to be “elegant, unambiguous, and simple.” The language is very similar to natural language. It is very readable, so it is not difficult to understand, and it is easier to get close to people. Therefore, it is very suitable for beginners to learn programming.
Python, created in 1991, is growing in popularity thanks to widespread use by data scientists, including the rise of artificial intelligence machine learning.
We can also see from the chart that Python has been on the rise in popularity and is expected to take the top spot.
Java language TIOBE index trend
Java, Java is actually relatively late development, Java language was formally born in 1995, until now only more than 20 years.
With the rise of the Internet trend, Java can be said to be popular all the way, including Web applications, desktop applications, Android applications… Until the rapid development of the Internet of Things, C overtook Java.
In addition, we have seen Java’s market share continue to decline in recent months, down 0.2% from the previous month and trending at -4.56%. Every language has its golden days and its golden days, and Java is no exception.
Finally, let’s look at the Programming Hall of FameIn four of the years on this list, Python has been the language with the highest rise in ratings over the course of the year. And on current trends, it’s likely to win again in 2021.
Language rankings reflect language activity, not simply how good a programming language is, or how many languages there are.
Know to 0 foundation wants to enter Internet industry person to be some reference sex however. Another is according to their own interests to choose their own is the best.
The TIOBE Programming Community Index is an indicator of the popularity of programming languages. The index is updated monthly. Ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers, courses and third party suppliers worldwide. Popular search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, Wikipedia, Amazon, YouTube and Baidu are used to calculate ratings.
