Programmer treasure trove: github.com/Jackpopc/CS…

Welcome to add VX: CODE_7Steps for a technical chat!

A programmer’s joy might be a handy keyboard, an efficient IDE, or even a cool command-line terminal.

Terminals are very important and frequently used tools on Linux and Unix systems that allow you to interact with your system.

Most of the time, though, we do boring, boring things at the terminal, like running, monitoring, and managing processes. However, there are some interesting scripts we can try that are more command-line friendly.

FIGlet

FIGlet is a computer program that takes a variety of fonts to generate text banners, consisting of small ASCII letters.

This is a clever technique that is fun to use for leisure reporting.

Installation method:

brew install figlet
Copy the code

cheat

Cheat is an absolute time saver on terminals.

It provides a very useful list of command-line options for commands that you often use, but don’t always remember.

Installation method:

brew install cheat
Copy the code

edex-ui

Edex-ui is a cross-platform, customizable, sci-fi terminal emulator with advanced monitoring and touch screen support.

Edex-ui is nicely done, but it has almost no functionality, and it takes up a lot of resources.

Installation method:

Brew install -- Cask edex-UICopy the code

cowsay

Cowsay is an interesting program that generates ASCII art pictures of cows with text content.

Installation method:

brew install cowsay
Copy the code

cmatrix

Cmatrix is a screensaver based on The Matrix website. It shows text flying in and out of a terminal, as seen in the Matrix movies.

It can scroll all rows at the same speed or asynchronously at a user-defined speed.

brew install cmatrix
Copy the code

say

This tool does exactly what it says: you can read a text file in your preferred voice.

You can also create an audio file from the text you read. Can be used for text-to-speech conversion, can also be used for rapid production of audio messages.

Installation method:

brew install say
Copy the code

bat

Bat is a lightweight script that provides syntax highlighting and Git integration on the terminal.

It is developed using Rust and is very fast.

With over 30,000 stars on Github, it’s certainly very popular. Bat-extras can also give you some additional features.

Installation method:

port install bat
Copy the code
