Recently, Github launched a new BCH application — GitCash. It uses BCH to enable tipping on Github.
GitHub, a programmer’s favorite, is a hosting platform for open source and proprietary software projects that supports Hosting Git as a unique repository format. It is currently used by 1.7 million software developers, who update an average of 80,000 software and create 7,000 software libraries every day. In all, GitHub hosts more than 3 million repositories, which co-founder Chris Wanstrath once described as “the wikipedia for programmers.”
How does Github’s GitCash work?
You can create an account by logging in to Github first. To ensure easy use, this account does not need to remember a password, all personal information is confidential, and all notifications are optional.
Secondly, you need to inject funds into the account, the type of funds is BCH, the account can use any wallet that supports BCH, of course, you can also scan the code to read your wallet address. If someone rewards you with a BCH, then congratulations, you can log into your account and claim your BCH.
Finally, you can keep rewarding your favorite users through your account until you get tired of it. Github will pay you the rest of the money wherever you want, or you can donate it to one of your favorite charities.
The tipping robot GitCash will give Github a more positive spin on its operations.
Github is the largest social programming and code hosting site in the world. Github also offers subscriptions, discussion groups, text rendering, online file editors, collaborative maps (reports), code fragment sharing (Gist) and more. Users share high-quality programming and code to Github. If they can’t get support and response from other users, activity will inevitably decrease, thus affecting the quality of programming and code. The launch of GitCash, a tipping robot, has been good for Github as users are more willing to create higher-quality content in general.
Second, it is to attract old users to stay and develop new users. The launch of the tipping robot GitCash can provide a new way for some users in terms of revenue. If users consider programming and code sharing from the perspective of revenue, the tipping function will bring Github a great advantage compared with other platforms.
Of course, GitCash isn’t the first tipping app to use BCH. Tippr has already been launched on Reddit and Twitter, while in China, BCH has launched a reward system based on its low fee and short confirmation time.
Hopefully the GitCash robot using BCH will bring more users and activity to Github, and hopefully more technicians will join the team developing the BCH app.
