One click to help you choose the best fit from millions of development packages.

When we need to develop a feature, we want to be able to choose the technology, framework, development kit, component, and so on that are best suited for that feature.

Nowadays, with the development of front-end technology, although more and more development packages are born, we may encounter the following two types of problems when making technology selection.

  1. There are plenty of good development packages, but I’ve never been in the field and can’t find them

  2. There are so many development packages in the same category, it’s hard to avoid feeling overwhelmed and wondering which one is more useful and fits your needs

For example, RECENTLY I was making a data visualization requirement and needed a PivotTable. It cost too much to develop by myself, so I definitely wanted to find a ready-made component that could meet all my requirements, such as support for custom statistics and drag and drop at will.

However, since it was the first time for me to contact PivotTable, I couldn’t find any suitable components. Although I could find some on Baidu or GitHub, it was difficult to intuitively judge which components were better. I had to try them one by one, which was very inefficient.

Just when I had no idea, I found this artifact!

Openbase, a quality open source project search engine, helps you find the right package from millions of front-end projects and development packages.

The interface is very lean and cool, with a big search box on the home page.

If I need a PivotTable component, I search for its English word pivot, which directly prompts the PivotTable category.

Entering this category, I discovered a new continent! Openbase directly helped me find the 36 best JavaScript PivotTable libraries!

Each library is a small card, and you can visually identify the quality of a resource through data, such as ratings, downloads, GitHub star count, and so on, based on feedback from other developers. Labels such as Easy to Use can also help you choose a technology.

I was immediately attracted to a 5.0-rated component and was able to view the details of the component directly, which was consistent with GitHub, meaning that I didn’t have to jump to GitHub once.

In addition to using the search box, you can go directly to the categories of interest to learn more about the technology!

It is really a good tool for selecting front-end technology that can not be missed!
