Flutter official 2021 Roadmap

  1. Air safety:

    • The Flutter Framework and officially developed packages and plugins will migrate to air safety.
    • Some tools for migration are also provided;

  2. Android & iOS

    • Support for incremental update resources and code (hot update/dynamic in this way);
    • Improve performance;
    • Simplify the complexity of hybrid development;
    • Support for new Android&iOS features;

  3. Web & Desktop

    • Improved support for Web, macOS, Windows, and Linux, with production environments targeted for 2021 (release 1.0);
    • The Web is mainly to improve performance and guarantee;
    • Desktop is mainly in auxiliary functions and multi-window;

  4. Improve the developer experience

    • Reduce boilerplate code;
    • Provides tools to migrate to air safety;

    • Official plugins will now be official;
    • Major changes to the WebView plugin;

    • Reduce memory overhead, App download size, usage lag, power consumption, improve runtime efficiency;
