Install Git and curl

sudo apt-get install git-core curl

Create AOSP directory

mkdir ~/AOSP
cd ~/AOSP

AOSP whatever you name, is a directory, store our clone down the source code

Configure Git

git config --global user.name Your Name
git config --global user.email you@example.com

Download and configure the REPO

Repo is our tool built on top of Git. Repo helps us manage many Git repositories, upload to our version control system, and automate parts of our Android development workflow. Repo is not meant to replace Git, just to make it easier to use Git in an Android environment. The repo command is an executable Python script that you can place anywhere in the path.

Domestic mirror

1. The speed at which code can be downloaded from the two mirrors varies depending on the region (or carrier) of the network;

2. Tsinghua AOSP image can only be downloaded using HTTPS, while USTC AOSP image can be downloaded using Git and HTTPS. (Git protocol is faster to download, if the network allows, prefer the image of HKUST);

3. Can be sent via the curl -i HEAD request, simple test site better (using time command timing, short time better) :

   • time curl -I https://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/

   • time curl -I https://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/

Initialize the warehouse

repo init -u git://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/aosp/platform/manifest

Run repo Init to get the latest version of the REPO and its latest bug fixes. The manifest file specifies where the individual code libraries contained in the Android source code will be placed in the working directory.

To check out the master branch, run the following command:

repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b master

To check out branches other than master, specify this branch using -b. For a list of branches, see the source tag and build (or see the table below).

Normally I don’t use repo directly, I use it this way, specifying to run the script using PYTHon3
