As highlighted in March, we are committed to helping all developers succeed and build sustainable businesses. At Google I/O last month, we did this by releasing updates designed to help more people explore your app and game, and by introducing a tier plan for a 15% service rate. Check out the Google Play update’s three highlights video here for more details.
We do everything we can to help developers succeed on Google Play and share more updates and progress with you.
Dedicated to improving the cross-device experience
No matter what device you’re using, people want to see great content. With the recent launch of Entertainment Space for tablets, the upcoming Samsung Watch with Wear OS, the new Android Auto platform, and the new discovery experience with Google TV, there are more opportunities for developers to engage users.
We’re excited about developers’ ability to extend their services beyond mobile through the Play platform, which is particularly important to users. We have been providing you with programs that help you create an innovative experience. Today, we are opening the Play Media Experience program worldwide to enable more developers to create great cross-device Media experiences, including:
- Video: High-quality video content for the living room; Requires integration with Android TV, Google TV, and Google Cast;
- Audio: A ubiquitous music and audio subscription service; Requires integration with Wear OS, Android Auto, Android TV, and Google Cast;
- Books: a great reading experience on a larger screen; Experience optimization for tablet and foldable devices; Integration with the latest Entertainment Space.
With these integrations, we offer developers the opportunity to acquire and reengage users to accelerate their overall growth on Play, as well as a 15% service rate over the planned period, all to help developers deliver a great experience.
Developers can now refer to the program guide and express their interest, and we will follow up with more information if you qualify. The Play Media Experience program integrates many of the other resources we offer to developers, including Google subscriptions for publishers, as well as our existing enterprise programs and many other programs like Play Points and Play Pass, Help us continuously improve the service we provide to our users to better meet the needs of developers.
