Experiment and instructions have been uploaded on my lot: https://github.com/Icarusintheworld/ComputerNework_guidebook.git 2017.3.15 a preparation, experiment 1. Group members read the instructions in advance. Familiar with experiment procedure and operating environment. (Note that the experiment environment is Windows XP.) 2. Refer to relevant documents. For example, search “how to share files between two PCS”, there will be detailed explanation and step tips in Baidu experience, and the experimental instructions written in the same minor differences. Note that most of the search results are based on the Windows XP environment, and there are a few lessons for file sharing on Windows 7.

Experiment 2 is divided into two parts: PC interconnection and PEER-to-peer network; Peer-to-peer network and resource sharing. In the first part, two people work together. One group acts as an assistant to supervise and guide the other group to complete relevant configuration and complete the experiment. Then the groups switched identities and did it again. Doing so is more efficient and memorable than two groups doing it simultaneously.

In the second part, PC-1 is selected as the computer connected to the external network, and the other three people are connected to PC-1, and each person configures his or her own computer. When the PC-1 is configured, others watch. In addition, since the crossover wires made in experiment 1 were not saved, the four people first made crossover cables before the experiment.

3. Experimental process and Analysis of key and difficult points In contrast to the smooth process of experiment 1, this time the process of making cross wires was extremely difficult. Because the front space of the crystal head used this time is too large, it is easy to be out of order after inserting the network cable. In addition, poor contact after pressing often occurs.

2) Configuration after PC interconnection. Setting an IP address and subnet mask was a breeze, but using the Network installation wizard set up a Home or Small Office Network was a new experience. Each step requires reference to the laboratory reference book, which is a little slower here.

3) Settings of shared folders. Removed the default “Use simple file sharing” option in Windows. This operation right here is worth thinking about. A search of information revealed that: Simple file sharing to configure the five levels of sharing and file access permissions: level 1: my documents (special) level 2: my documents (the default) level 3: local users can use the files in the Shared documents 4: (can be read by all) Shared file on the network level 5: (everyone can read and write) the Shared file on the network

Note: By default, files stored in My Documents are level 2. The folders at levels 1,2 and 3 are for users logging in locally only. Users who log in locally include users who log in from a remote desktop (RDP) session to a Windows XP Professional based computer. Level 4 and 5 folders are available for both locally logged in users and remote users from the network. Undoing simple file sharing allows folder permissions to be set explicitly, more freely, and at a finer level.

  1. Connect to a star network and access the Internet through PC-1. When you disable the Extranet, you can’t simply right click disable, but uninstall it. (Device Manager -> Network Adapter -> Right-click the nic to uninstall; Do not restart the computer, the machine will restore the original Settings after the restart.

  2. Set the IP address for accessing the Internet through PC-1. According to the IP address configuration in the experiment guide, two computers in our group showed IP conflict. So we changed the IP to a less common one to avoid this problem. And pay attention to the gateway configuration. The problem here is that one of our group forgot to configure the gateway, so it could not be connected at that time. After the experiment is successful, PC-2,PC-3, and PC-4 can access the Internet and ping each other. At the same time, we found in the experiment that the speed of PC-1 accessing the Internet decreased. Guess with other three computers at the same time through PC-1 connected to the Internet.

The IP address setting in the instructions is always fixed, which is actually not conducive to the smooth progress of the experiment. More flexibility is recommended. The hierarchy of instructions is not clear. There is no directory or bookmark, the jump is very inconvenient, it is not easy for students to master the idea of the whole experiment and before and after the connection. Pay attention to the details of the experiment, such as disabling firewalls, external network cards, configuring the correct gateway, and so on. Although the steps are small, they are key to the success of the experiment.

1. Add file sharing experiments on Windows 7 and other latest operating systems. Or you can compare the two. Today, Windows XP is rarely used in the real world, and the practicality of our experiments in such an experimental environment is somewhat diminished. [a way of file sharing on the Windows 7 http://www.xitongcheng.com/jiaocheng/win7/] 2, select the folder to want to share, click the right mouse button on this folder, click share, it can choose to share ways: everything is Shared and read-only don’t write, etc. 3. When entering the sharing page, if you have not performed file sharing before, you may be prompted to modify related Settings. Click the link below to change advanced Sharing Settings. 4. In the interface of advanced Sharing Settings, select the relevant options for enabling file sharing, as shown in the figure. After selecting the options, click Save to exit the setting page. 5. Then go back to the family group screen and click on the “Network Location” option shown in the picture. 6, then modify the network environment, the home group sharing must be in the home network environment, click the network environment option under broadband connection. 7. Choose the first option, home networking. 8. Click to set the network environment automatically. Wait until the setting is complete and enter the next step. 9. Select the file type to share, such as pictures, music and videos, and click Next. 10. Now you can start sharing files. This process takes some time to complete, and you can access files on your current computer on other computers in your family.
