I was born and raised in Wuhan. Like many ordinary working families, few of my elders went to college. When I finished the college entrance examination, my scores were just so-so, and I had no idea which major to choose. Two grandpa’s family is better, his eldest daughter (aunt), and her husband (uncle) in a state-owned enterprise, is the human resources department, section chief? I can’t remember what it was, mostly recruitment, payroll, that sort of thing.

The back is very traditional story, our family came with gifts, let them give me ideas, choose a good major, good employment after graduation in the future. This state-owned enterprise calls wuhan investigation institute of metallurgical Group (metallurgical wu Jian), engage in civil engineering that piece, I was also recommended to choose “civil engineering”.

I had no idea what I was doing after I graduated from civil engineering. All I know is, it’s hard, it’s stable, it makes money.

Until the third year, uncle they want to arrange my internship, I sent to the project of Xiaoting in Yichang. For the first time, I realized clearly what “civil engineering” meant.

Like the IT industry, there are front-end or back-end, there are also products and so on. As the name implies, the unit of MCC Military Survey focuses on the “survey”, most of the projects are to do the bottom foundation project, the foundation has to rank first (pile foundation, foundation pit and so on are counted among them). When I first came to the project department, to be honest, I was not used to it.

When meeting colleagues, you should address them with surname + gong, such as Chen Gong, Li Gong, etc. There is Party A, the construction party like us is Party B, of course, there is the supervisor sent by Party A to supervise the project, and the subcontractor invited by our construction party, so complicated… .

When I went to the project department for the first time (of course, it can also be understood as the construction site), I didn’t realize how severe the sun was. I took a bunch of short sleeves and ran out of work clothes for the project department. In this project from July to September stay, the sun is shining, more than two months of time, basked in a T-shirt out.

Wear deep bucket overshoes, very common in the bottom project, the whole site is full of dirt, rain is full of mud, do not wear it will not be able to walk! Feel how it feels to walk in this thing in 40°+ hot weather!

Holding a shovel is not really moving bricks, just because that day just need to do a few basis points, convenient for the engineer to put a tripod, do the basis points need and cement, I volunteered to go up!

In October, I went back to Wuhan to return to school, and continued to report to the second project department within a week. The second project is in Wuhan, a very far, far away place in Jiangxia.

Rain shutdown we want to go to the Internet, need to take a taxi past, at least to block more than 1 hour;

There were no toilets, so they had to pee in the fields;

There was no bathroom, so I had to take a bucket of water (you know, plastic buckets of paint) and take a casual shower by the roadside.

Feel like a savage? Well, sort of. But I really got used to and enjoyed my internship, because I was surrounded by colleagues of my own age, some of whom I met once a year during the five years. Later, the senior to participate in the school recommended supervision, and their own home decoration (interior decoration) and so on internship.

Sometimes, I also look forward to getting some certificates in the future, becoming a project manager, or going to a design institute and stepping on the peak of my life.

13 years, I graduated, and most of the young ambitious peers, thinking that is, can not rely on family, rely on connections, to rely on their own. He gave up the position of his relatives and began to apply for a job. However, he was turned down by accident and finally entered Wuhan Construction Industry. Nearly a year in this company is also the turning point for me to change my career.

During this year, I have been working as the site construction person in charge, and the most embarrassing thing is that the project was entered as a subcontractor of Party B. Every day, I had to go back and forth with PARTY A, Party B, the supervisor and even our workers. After four projects, the projects were further and further away, from the urban area of Wuhan, to outside the fifth Ring Road, to outside the province. The projects got smaller and smaller.

Even Wuhan Construction Engineering itself is also like this. The project manager takes over the work by himself. In the company, he only uses the relevant qualifications of the company to handle various procedures needed for the commencement of construction.

My feeling is that the whole industry is very depressed, what makes me more overwhelmed is to communicate with those units, no one cares, no smoke, pass a bottle of water, in addition, just graduated, where are the youngest, completely have no right to speak.

Under the influence of these factors, I thought of changing my career.

Of course, I did not want to improve the line to do what, the initial idea is, if something is not determined, take an examination of civil servants?

I do not know why, this “civil engineering” experience, let me become very strong:

1. I adapted myself to the savage working environment;

2. All kinds of unruly related units, my mentality still hasn’t exploded;

I hit a brick wall looking for a job, but I finally found one.

Interlaced such as mountains, this experience to my back zero experience change, played a very big role.
