4/25 10:00-12:00, what to watch live
Round table | Keynote Session by Ververica
Last year at Flink Forward Asia, Stephan shared his vision and plans for Flink as a universal engine for Applications and Services. In short, he believes that in addition to batch streaming, Flink’s framework can support event-driven online applications effectively or even better.
What will Stephan and Konstantin post about the latest community trends at Flink Forward? As the mystery talk of this live broadcast, please look forward to the live commentary!
Sharing Guests:
- Konstantin Knauf, Product Lead, Ververica Platform.
- Stephan Ewen, Apache Flink PMC Chair, Ververica Co-founder, CTO
Presenter:
- Yu Li (Juding), Apache Flink Committer, Apache Flink 1.10 Release Manager, Alibaba Senior Technical Expert.
Round table | Keynote: Splunk data infrastructure development
Over the past few years almost all data processing has moved from batch to stream processing. This is driven not only by the need for low latency, but also by the fundamental understanding that streams are more efficient primitives for data processing, providing better adaptation for a variety of downstream systems and services.
Like many other companies, Splunk has been evolving its core data infrastructure to better provide a simpler, more consistent programming model that addresses data correctness and latency, and allows for a more open integration model with our data platform. Throughout this process, we have viewed Apache Flink as a key backbone in our core data infrastructure. Join us for a detailed look at our data infrastructure and how we think about its fundamental changes.
Sharing Guests:
- Eric Sammer was an early member of Cloudera, founder of Rocana (acquired by Splunk), distinguished engineer at Splunk, and author of “Hadoop Operations.”
Presenter:
- Wang Zhijiang (Tao Jiang), Apache Flink 1.11 Release Manager, Senior technical expert of Alibaba.
Round table | Lyft: based on the analysis of Flink quasi real-time data platform
In this share, we’ll introduce Lyft’s streaming data analytics platform, which enables real-time processing of hundreds of billions of events per day. In our design, Flink acts as a bridge between online streaming and offline batch processing.
The Flink cluster is responsible for extracting events from pubSub systems, batch encoding them, and uploading them to persistent storage, such as AWS S3. We will discuss how ingested data can be used to provide interactive queries through the Presto engine and how Flink event time can be used to drive partition awareness and downstream ETL. We will also share strategies to reduce downtime and maintain data quality during migration, recover from unpredictable system outages, and lessons learned from extending the data pipeline.
Sharing Guests:
- Dr. Ying Xu is the Technical Lead of Lyft data platform streaming media platform.
- Kailash Hassan Dayanand Kailash Hassan Dayanand has over 5 years of experience in building data infrastructure, search infrastructure and computer vision systems.
Presenter:
- Wang Yang (yi Qi) is a technical expert at Alibaba.
Speech | weibo Flink based machine learning practice
