Cloud Container Instance (Cube) is a Serverless architecture based container instance service provided by UCloud. It provides more flexible and fast resource support for business through UCloud infrastructure resources. You can deploy and manage your container applications on Cube. And you don’t have to worry about the server operations at the bottom of the application.
Let’s now take a look at how to use Cube to quickly build a WordPress based site in three simple steps without tedious cloud host configuration and service installation.
Create a Container Group
- Go to the Cube console page, click the Cube Create button to go to the Create page, and give your container group a name, such as wp_test
- After selecting the appropriate configuration (such as 1C1G), configure the image for the container. In the Docker official image, select the latest version of the WordPress image. The UCloud image repository uHub has provided some commonly used Docker official images. You can also push your own image to the UCloud private image repository
- Configure an extranet IP for the container group. For simple site access, you can configure 1M first and upgrade later as needed
- Click “Buy Now” to complete the creation. The Cube is completely free during open beta, but you will need to pay for other products such as EIP
- Create a WordPress Container Group, from creation to Running in less than 5 seconds
MySQL > configure MySQL database
- Type the external IP of the container group into the browser to see that the WordPress service is running in the container group. After that, we need to do some database configuration and install WordPress
- Here, we can select the MySQL database provided by UCloud, click the “Create” button to enter the page of database creation, and select the simplest version with 1G memory and 20G storage space.
- Configure the database name (here I set it to wp-test) and password (the database may not be in the same available zone as the container instance) and click Buy Now to create it
- Click “Login” on the database details page to enter the administration interface. Enter the user name (here I default to root) and password
- I’m going to create a new database and I’m going to call it “wordpress.”
The configuration of WordPress
- Go back to the WordPress configuration interface, data database name (WordPress), user name, password (configured when creating MySQL), server address (database IP address: port number), click Submit, you can see that the database has been connected successfully, and you can start the installation
- Configure your WordPress site title, your WordPress username and password, and Let’s GO!
- When the installation is complete, log on to the WordPress site and you can see that the installation is successful
In the future, Cube will launch more functions, including the linkage with UCloud file storage, cloud disk block storage and other products. We will also launch more practice cases. Welcome to pay attention!
