In the React field, there is always a lack of a reliable and easy to use mobile terminal components. Antd Mobile V2 of Ant has been in disrepair for a long time with almost no maintenance, which is far different from ANTD. In terms of Design, many of them are no longer in line with Alipay Design.

Excitingly, just the other day, Roadmap 5.0 (Aspen) was released in the Discussions of Ant-Design-Mobile.

On the evening of August 26th it was announced that V5 was in beta.

5 (Aspen) Roadmap

5.0 (Poplar) is our latest next-generation ANTD-Mobile component library under development. After nearly 5 months of development, it has covered 48 components and has been implemented in many projects.

We recently released an alpha version of the NPM package and deployed a new documentation site. To be honest, ANTD Mobile 5.0 is still a bit immature, but we want to get it out to the community as soon as possible, and we want the development process and planning to be as transparent, open and collaborative as possible.

So, to help you get a better understanding of version 5.0, here are a few thoughts and directions.

What will 5.0 bring

Visual specification

Consistent with V3 V4 version, V5 will also follow the latest version of Alipay based Design specification Alipay Design.

Gestures and animation

V5 uses use-Gesture as gesture library and React-Spring as animation library, with smoother and more delicate gesture interaction and animation effects.

Redesigned API

All v5 components have been completely rewritten, and the API has been redesigned to be more modern and elegant.

Embrace CSS variables

CSS variables provide the ability to style more dynamically, and to style components more elegantly. Component styling wizardry is a very painful and difficult thing to maintain in the business, and we wanted to change that with CSS variables.
