What is immersion?

The traditional status bar is a black bar, some of which is clearly different from the phone’s home screen. This, too, sacrifices visual width to a certain extent and makes the interface smaller.

Immersion means that the picture of the APP interface extends to the status bar, and the APP itself is immersed in the status bar. Therefore, if the third-party software does not assign pictures to the status bar, it will naturally be black. The status bar at the top and virtual buttons below are hidden, drawn away from the edge when needed.

Immersion mode. When this mode is enabled, the application interface takes up the entire screen, and the system automatically hides the status bar and navigation bar so that the application content can be displayed in the maximum range, increasing the large screen experience. When you need to view notifications, you can swipe down from the top to call out the notification bar. There are actually two modes of immersion:

The status bar and virtual buttons are automatically hidden, and the app is automatically full-screen. In this mode, the app takes up all of the screen and only exits when the user swipes down from the top edge of the screen, not when the user touches another part of the screen. This mode is suitable for reader and magazine applications.

The other, called “sticky Immersion mode,” makes the status bar and virtual buttons translucent. Apps use all of the screen. Swiping down from the top edge of the screen doesn’t exit the mode, but the system interface (status bar, navigation bar) appears translucent in the app view. Only when the user clicks a control on the system interface will the user exit the sticky immersion mode.
