Just in time for autumn recruitment, I would like to share my interview experience from school to now.
This article will not share specific interview questions, but will mainly talk about my interview experience over the years and what I personally think can be learned from it. I hope to provide a little help to students in college and within three years of graduation.
So this article is less dry goods, more water, if you want to pick the key to see, you can directly search the keyword “summary”.
Search for “job hopping” if you want to see my job hopping experience, or “Onboarding ant” (or slide to last) if you want to see my job hopping experience. Start reading the next paragraph if you have nothing to do.
internship
At that time I was also very ignorant, do not know a lot of big factories have internship recruitment, until the end of the junior year, the school said: “students, you have no class in the senior year, must practice ah!” I just realized, oh, I’m going to get an internship. And I never had a career plan. I majored in software engineering, but I didn’t really know what I was going to do.
- The android? The IOS? I didn’t learn it at all.
- Algorithm? I didn’t even see my name on the ACM contest at school.
- C + +? I forgot about my freshman class.
- I seem to have some memories of the Java Web.
So my internship is mostly Java development.
At that time, the school organized a special internship job fair. I found a good resume template that night and sent it to the job fair.
There are no big factories in our job fair. Most of them are small and medium-sized enterprises and start-up companies in Hangzhou.
I also asked the teacher in charge of recruitment: “Teacher teacher, these companies to our school, do you recommend any special ah?”
Teacher: “fu bo tong is good.”
Result this company that day didn’t come at all, I turn head to go to fu bo to cast resume again website, also be nothing, feel very regretful at that time.
What is interesting is that the word of mouth of fu Bo tong on the net is poor now. I don’t know if I’m dead. Luckily, I didn’t go.
Dasoo car also came to the recruitment fair, dasoo car just came to Hangzhou from Beijing, or just at the start-up stage. I love cars myself and have a car-related business in my family. In addition, I also like start-up companies, consciously join them, and soon I may become a key employee and become rich, just around the corner. So he was interested in a car search, so he applied.
Several of my close friends also applied for a car search, and most of us were called in for an interview. Surprisingly, I was the only one who didn’t.
The main reason: I forgot Java too… I didn’t prepare for the internship interview at all. He thinks he’s great, and he talks big. He said he had a lot of scholarships and a good GPA.
What impressed me most was that the interviewer asked me, how do you think of your learning ability?
Me: “MY learning ability is still good, although the students work very busy, but still can maintain good grades.”
Interviewer: “I think you’re an average learner.”
Then I was rejected, while three of my other best friends passed, including two of my classmates who went to the internship.
However, after more than half a year, these two also left the search car, mainly at that time they give the low salary. Their low salary is also because the search car financing problems, can be said to be precarious.
One of the reasons the front end is so strong now is because they took a lot of people out of the back end… So the front end takes a lot of responsibility, gets on Node, and does a lot of output internally. So search car front end is still very good in the industry. Of course, the most important or taro leadership!
Fortunately, at that time, Socha persisted. After ant Financial’s strategic investment, it recently raised money, which is now a good company in the environment of recession.
And then I met with a company, Asiaincia. It seemed to be a relatively large company at the time. The interviewer just graduated from Zhejiang University of Technology, he took a look at the resume, said, yo brother ah.
Me: “senior good, senior good!
Interviewer: “How about your Java?”
Me: “Ok. My Java Web and J2EE gpAs are 4 or so.”
Interviewer: “Tell me about the lock in Java.”
I: “hm…… Forgotten.”
And then it was awkward, and then it was no surprise that I was still blanked.
Anyway, all the companies I applied for at the job fair failed, and none of them took me. Later, by chance, I met a company founded by senior students. They grudgingly took me in, seeing that I had no skill, but a good brain.
Having said so much, sum up, we should pay attention to the internship or school recruitment points:
- Get involved in technical jobs and don’t take your grades too seriously. Don’t assume that just because you have good grades, someone will want you. Those are the icing on the cake, but not necessarily related to professional level. Schools, in particular, are not so good. (Only for undergraduate, master and doctor I have not read, have no right to speak)
- Don’t fight a battle unprepared! Want to cast what post, be about to review the corresponding professional knowledge first!
- It is best to have a professional direction as soon as possible, and do in-depth study, do not know where to shoot on the arrow.
- A lot of big factory have school recruit with practice window, and have fixed time, do not forget also do not miss!
- Try to go to the big factory, small start-up company probability is still dead. As a newcomer to the workforce, it’s hard to play a key role in a startup. It’s not your turn to make a fortune.
job-hopping
I stayed in the company where I practiced after graduation, so I don’t have any experience in recruiting fresh graduates.
Let me talk about my interview experience in the process of job-hopping from the first company to Dingxiang Garden. This is a lot of interviews… Not much dry stuff, but I thought it was interesting… Just take it as a joke…
I quit my job naked, which is also my mistake of being too confident… I left my job a year ago and came back to Hangzhou after the Lantern Festival. It took me another month to find a job. There was a lot of frustration.
In my first company, I developed both front and rear ends, but I only have more than one year of work experience, coupled with my spare time but diligent, and the company does not work overtime, my accumulation in the front end is still very weak. But I wanted to do the front end full-time, so I started to invest in the front end.
Here’s my crazy interview process:
When I was young and frivolous, I first asked Ali’s classmates for internal promotion. Unfortunately, I failed immediately, and the interview evaluation was not optimistic.
2
Voted netease, resume did not pass.
I submitted my resume to Weibo, Segmentfault, Kuga, Red Circle Marketing, Moo Street, etc.
The first company to do wechat related development, so I confidently cast praise, micro store, two-dimensional fire, consciously should have extra points, but the same resume has not passed.
3
Invested in China Merchants Bank network. I passed the written test and the second round of technical interview, and the interviewers gave me a good evaluation. The interview ended with hr and a male interviewer.
The male interviewer, I don’t know what his position was, asked me a question:
How to ensure user login security on the login interface of the bank?
I said, on the front end, it feels like there’s not much you can do except know you have to be HTTPS.
The interviewer is not satisfied, I feel that the answer is not good.
There is an interesting thing about the written test of China Merchants Bank. I have a classmate in China Merchants Bank. Later I knew that the paper of my written test was his, but he was not the front end. The bank did not have what front end, that paper is he searched a lot of topics on the net to spell.
4
I invested in a small outsourcing company, one side, the boss to talk about the second. My boss is very nice. He is very humble when I speak so high and mighty. He thought I wanted to go to big factories and keep me, saying, “Actually, we also have a lot of outsourcing jobs from some big factories, such as Ali.”
At that time, I asked him a question because of my doubt: “Why ali such a big factory, there is no shortage of talent ah, why still need to find us?”
Boss: “Well, there are many reasons. For example, some big factories have some projects, which are also in the experimental stage and are not sure whether they will be successful. If you hire someone to do it, what if the project falls apart? I didn’t get fired. That’s where we outsource.”
Of course, I have not been exposed to such outsourcing since I came to Ali. More outsourcing I contact is that some static pages are relatively simple, but it always takes time to do, and let the company front-end is a little overqualified, so I find outsourcing students.
5
I also invested in a large outsourcing company, and the project manager of that business appreciated me when I wrote Scala in my first company and wanted me to work there. Unfortunately, I chose to go to lilac Garden in the end.
But I don’t think I’m worthy of his liking, because I’m not very good at scala…
6
I also got a flush and got the offer. The offer salary is not what I expected, I feel that there is no big change in salary after job-hopping, so I am always reluctant. Moreover, Flush still needs to work overtime on Saturday.
7
A classmate to me pushed the Cao Cao car, one side of the end, with salary expectations. I said 16K at that time, it is estimated that Cao Cao felt my ability is not enough to bear this huge sum of money, no below.
8
I also voted nine. Their product is In, a photo social app that was very popular a few years ago. At the beginning of ’17, I felt ok. I’ve had one and two interviews, and the third is between the head of the front and the CTO. The CTO was kind, but the head of the front end was strict, but good-looking. He asked me about vUE, angular, and I hung up.
Recently I heard that Jiuyan will close down……
9
I also invested in a company called Facebook China, whose office is in Kunhe Center, Wulin Square, Hangzhou. In the office and downtown, HR is beautiful. I also got the offer, the pay is good. To be honest, I was a little tempted, after all, HR is really pretty.
I mean, my Facebook traffic is really bad, and I don’t make much money, but the office is so downtown… It always felt weird and unreliable, and I didn’t accept the offer.
Then the other day an old school friend told me… Facebook went bankrupt… Wages are not sent out, still say what boss and female employees car shock, send villas to small three yunyun.
HMMM, no wonder their hr little sisters are so good-looking…
10
I also invested in a start-up company called Rainbow Cloud live, the company is really few people, the interviewer felt I was reliable, want me to come. But I see how few people work here… Product I feel I can not, is on wechat live shopping.
So I just sat down and started asking for 20K, and I figured they couldn’t afford it, and that was it. But their HR little sister is also really good-looking, very gentle.
And then they went out of business, and THEN I interviewed one of their guys at Lilac… Let me decline after the interview…
11
I also invested in a startup, promoted by a junior, called Fireball Buyers. After the technical interview, the HR face, although the HR long is good, but the speech is too artificial… Probably didn’t like me, and never did. Just looked at the pea pod app downloads, less than 50,000, it is estimated that the capital barely survive.
12
They also invested in a company that is also engaged in medical treatment. Their office is located in the Building of Science and Technology Bureau in Hangzhou. I later learned that the office was located here when Dingxiang Garden first came to Hangzhou ten years ago.
Hangzhou science and Technology Bureau seems to really like to help the medical industry ah!!
But I don’t feel good about this medical company. I used to interview, and it felt like I was interviewing them to solve their problems. They said they were in the middle of front-end engineering, and then they opened up a project and asked me what they were doing with front-end engineering.
When I look at the project, the script in head references jQuery and Angular… It’s what they call engineering in the middle.
I said if it was me… I’ll probably delete the code first…
Later I expressed my dissatisfaction and said that the question should not be asked in this way, and he said ok, I tell you what, if you use CSS to draw the Olympic rings, how can you achieve it?
I said, “Well, I think I’ll use a picture…”
And it ended badly…

Finally, talk about the interview experience of Lilac Garden.
Lilac Garden has two sides. The first side was interviewed by the group leader after I was hired. Most of the general interview questions I also forgot, anyway experienced the above ten, I have answered the flow… The only thing I remember is when he asked me how I did the front end separation in the old front end coupling project. When I mentioned the previous company’s plan, he laughed and said that Lilac Garden did the same thing.
Anyway, we had a good conversation. Then I met with the front end supervisor at that time, and the conversation was not mainly about technical direction. Some career plans and growth goals.
Finally, I chose the Lilac Garden. From the above interview experience we can also know the reason for choosing lilac Garden. I can’t go to a better platform like Netease and Ali. The others either think I’m overpaid, or I think they’re a little unreliable.
Fortunately, I made the right choice in the end. From the time I joined the company to the time I left, there was hardly anything that made me uncomfortable. The company is also doing well and valuable to society.
If you want to know more about Lilac Garden, you can also ask me.
summary
Finally, summarize several points for attention of front-end job-hopping:
- Try not to resign naked, or you will be very passive. If you don’t have the ability or luck, you won’t be able to enter the company you like. If you don’t want to go to the company you don’t like, you’ll be embarrassed if you feel you’re idle.
- Pay attention to social security, don’t cut off payments! If really not, you can go to Taobao to buy. If really broken again to buy fill pay, remember to spend more money, buy will pay taxes. Don’t ask me why….. Are tears.
- Most want to go to the company behind the face, the front of the first save a little face.
- There is no higher grasp and caution to Ali interview, want to save Ali’s face to see the interview experience of others on the Internet. It’s not good to get a bad review.
- Platform is very important when you are not strong enough. Look at the many companies I have met, most of the dead, injured and injured, can go to a better company to a better company. Big company experience is also a lot of points on the resume.
- Education and company experience are important. It doesn’t have to be a barrier to an interview, but there’s a good chance they won’t look at you when they’re sifting through your resume.
In the ant
Later, WHEN I resigned from the Lilac garden, I only faced ants. At that time, IT was also inadvertently inserted into the willow. I tried to embrace it, but I did not expect to enter it. If you have the same idea, why not send me a resume: [email protected]. Maybe just in case…….
As for the experience of facing ants (for P6 post), IT is not convenient for me to talk about details. I would like to say two things that I personally think are important:
- Professional technical ability must pass. Learning ability and hard work are not decisive factors in social recruitment.
- Must have certain driving force, executive power. Smooth completion of work, bug-free online and so on are the most basic requirements. If there’s a bug, can you put your resume on it? What you need to do is drive the implementation, such as performance optimization, development efficiency improvement and so on.
Some students asked me the key points of each round of interview. Let me tell you my own experience. However, there may be some differences in the recruitment process of each BU. I am ant Insurance Business Group, and WHAT I said is only the situation at that time:
One side
One side of the JS/CSS/HTML basic knowledge will be more. Although I mainly wrote vUE at that time, I was asked a lot about React because Ant was the stack of React technology. Personally, I feel that my answer is not very ideal, but I guess the interviewer gave me a second round of interview because I don’t use React very much.
Second interview
When the second call came, I was at a friend’s wedding and had stopped in for an interview. There’s less basic knowledge on one side and two sides, but in general, it’s the same questions that you can search on the Internet, really. But that doesn’t mean you can do well on something you can find on the Internet. Is your answer read on the Internet, or their own real understanding, these can be felt.
So students must have their own understanding when searching the interview questions on the Internet. Be sure to delve into the rationale behind those interview questions so that your answers can be eloquent.
On three sides
Three sides of me still have the same problems. The first and second are interviews with people in the department to be hired. Three and four sides are the intersection of various departments. In order to ensure the fairness and justice of the interview process, to ensure the quality and quantity of ant employees. So don’t expect that saying you know someone in your department will make your interview any easier.
All around
My four interviewers mainly asked me about the best project I had done, the most important role I had played in it, and how I had solved the problems I had encountered in it.
As I have used Node and Egg, I asked for my experience on Node and my opinion on Egg. As well as the use of ali’s other open source projects experience and personal views.
Mainly tests the deep thinking on the professional technology and some ability on the technology. This round of interview requires candidates to have a certain degree of project precipitation and professional depth, rather than simply be able to answer questions. Because there are a lot of weird questions you can ask on the job, which is not covered by some interview questions. If you can’t tell some of your problems, it means that it is true that you have less project experience, or that you have less thinking and precipitation.
However, most of the problems people encounter are actually very simple, such as how to abstract components, such and so on compatibility, are a few points above the problem. Alibaba P6 is required to be independent and can be responsible for everything in a business line. Therefore, we need to spread the point to the surface, such as the overall engineering structure of the project, research and development process and efficiency and other issues.
Five, six sides
Then came the interview between the person in charge of the technology department and HR. It’s not about technology, it’s about the people themselves. Thoughts, values, thoughts on Ali, thoughts on personal development, etc. Just tell it like it is and stick to your heart.
I believe that as long as a person with good character and positive life, there will be no big problem in this round of interview.
Ah, write good water, I don’t know if I can give you a useful thing. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, feel free to comment to me and I’ll add it.
