In March of this year, we decided to refactor. At this time, we only had one product. For the whole project, as operators, we all went to learn how to write product documents. How to explain the function list and flow chart clearly to the development students? Document at first, we all think that is very simple, because we get to know the product function is the most people, but the actual operation down, found a pile of dog shit, you know is one thing, others can understand is another thing, overtime, stay up late every day, of course there will also be developed spray bosses, vaguely remember, I write my own small volumes of mobile terminal product documentation, At 12:30 in the middle of the night, the r&d students wrote five versions of the whole document. In addition to ourselves, the students of the whole team basically went home around 11 o ‘clock. We spent four busy months, and finally the reconfiguration version of The Gold mining was put online on July 30.

All the efforts are not important, what is important is that the product has undergone a relatively complete change of blood, which can ensure the next better iteration to achieve our goals.

Most of the time it’s a simple response, because we don’t know what it’s going to look like. In the confused period of the whole half a year, there are also a lot of new faces settled in the nuggets, such as Shujiang, Jiang Pengfei, programmer Cxuan, TianTianUP, Jake Zhang, etc., more and more authors are migrating their articles on other platforms to the nuggets. When we talked to them about why they moved their blogs to Nuggets, most of them told us that nuggets were pure and had no ads, but they also gave us a lot of advice. Some even told us to open up our access and they helped us fix bugs. In particular, I remember that we have been working on a bug, and a digger directly gave us a technical document on how to improve it. It was really moving. Several things we still haven’t worked out this year

  • Traffic pool allocation. I never think the interview articles are bad, I think the content that can help others is valuable content, but our product and operation strategy did not carry out reasonable traffic pool allocation.
  • Not giving more money to creators (personal tech brands, money)
  • There are too many problems with the product experience, and it doesn’t make it a better writing and reading experience for the diggers
  • Content caps and content richness issues are not addressed
  • Too many bugs

In 2020, the biggest change in my career should be the change of my personal role, from being in charge of my own small area (content operation) to being in charge of the operation of the entire Nuggets. The change of role made me change my thinking from personal planning to team development planning. I’ve never managed a team of this many people. It’s stressful.
