preface

I’ve been in the computer industry for four years. From the beginning of their own future eloquence to the present unknown. Sometimes I also reflect on myself, review myself, whether I am a Loser or not.

I am a junior college dog, edge computer professional, currently engaged in WEB front-end field.

Beginner disciple – Choice is greater than effort

During the internship season in July 2016, I was lucky to enter the front-end industry. I spent nearly a year with a bunch of big boys, and I grew and learned a lot. Learn Python with operations executives. Dgango for Web development, Scrapy for crawlers. I also stole some basic Linux operations.

Around December 2016, I accidentally saw the “unborn” small program of wechat. Compared with the wechat public account and the original APP, I felt that this was a tuyere in the front. Although at that time already began the private beta, but still applied for a private beta quota. Since I was using VUE at the time, there was no difficulty in getting started with the small program. Coincidentally, the company also had the honor to write the first small program in life, although not online to die. But also let me have a small program actual combat development experience. But also set foot on the micro channel small program this road of no return, but also for the career behind a foreshadowing.

Graduation season is also the season of separation, with love to generate electricity is always not a long-term way. Although very reluctant to bring in the entry of the big men, but always have to live. So I moved to a new company.

The company can be summed up in a few words: entrepreneurial, flat, poorly structured, and without a technological atmosphere. The boss drew a big cake at that time, I was filled with enthusiasm on the spot agreed to come down. I was responsible for the technical department of the company (two PHP and one UI), while MY main business was front-end, sideline products and operation and maintenance. The main work is to talk about customers with the boss, understand the needs, make a quotation scheme, estimate the construction period, draw prototypes, cooperate with UI partners to design drafts, write front-end pages, coordinate with back-end partners, code deployment, help customers apply for a series of accounts required by micro channel small programs. Later, I learned how to use Sketch to create effect drawings with UI partners and TinkPHP with back-end partners, but I did not continue to dig into the front-end technology. Of course, such learning also made a big hole for myself.

Because of unpaid wages, unable to support the choice to quit again. Although up to now the back salary has not been paid, but has not planned to ask. After all, the company gave me a platform to play on it, and I should take part of the responsibility for the final failure. In fact, the revenue of many technology companies is not proportional to the fact that most of them burn the capital of investors. (Later I learned from chatting with some big shots)

Small and micro companies cash out of the odds are lower than the odds of winning the lottery, you friends treasure.

New player in the world — attractive but useless

After naked resignation, I went through two days of interview and got three offers. Finally, I chose an outsourcing company listed on the New Third Board. There is no more introduction to the interview process. We talked about the model based on wechat ecology, project management and wechat mini program.

I served as the front end leader of this company, and my main responsibilities included personnel management, work coordination, project development, and troubleshooting. I often communicated with the technical director about ideas and current problems, and learned more perfect management schemes and project schemes. Because the company uses PHP architecture, it is determined to take the road of full stack, because the original plan is to climb to the position of technical director within 5 years. (now think about their own this flag more naive) smooth sailing in this company for a year, growth is not a lot. The only growth is that when Node.js was at its peak, I chose PHP as my background language and involved multiple frameworks Yii, Lumen, ThinkPHP.

I have done a lot of outsourcing projects here, including wechat public account, wechat small program, wechat merchant platform, wechat open platform and vUe-based front and back end projects. It gave me a deeper understanding of projects and management, but some of them are only applicable to the outsourcing industry.

In March, 2018, the outgoing technical director asked me to come to him to assist him in the establishment of the technical department of a new company and do some previously envisaged projects. Just at that time this company is executing compulsory 996, itself has the intention that wants to change a job, promised to come down.

If the current me to evaluate me then is not good looking, everything is only skin deep.

River’s lake waste firewood — go crazy

The start-up company made its own background rapid development framework based on Laravel-admin + swoole, which is actually the basic operation of generating CURD according to database fields and annotations, and optimizing UI part. I took two front-end partners and two back-end partners to do several projects, mainly for APP and small programs. After careful selection, I choose Uni-App between Taro and Uni-app. After all, UNI-App is formerly DCloud. (Uni-APPD is probably more comfortable for me who only knows VUE and small programs)

I wrote a set of uni-app visual project management in KOA while mimicking UMI UI and supporting template creation and component creation. However, the code is written too slag, there is an opportunity to reconstruct an open source. In fact, in the computer industry a lot of time to see the mountain is not mountain, see who the water is not. Also based on Laravel-S to imitate Tencent IM SDK interface protocol to write a webscoket based instant messaging package, but only half finished.

In April, the epidemic turned what should have been a warm spring into a cold winter. Since February, the wechat moments have been filled with half salary every day and the company has gone bankrupt. Finally, we could not survive. The epidemic has already been struggling to support investors. And I’m on a new journey

Careful people may notice that my front-end skills are not growing.

The Divine Eagle Warrior — Survive without arms

You think your job search should be easy, but it’s not. Because of the skills I have accumulated so far, it may be suitable for small companies or startups, because only they pursue results more than quality. And today, the goal is to pass the 20 hurdle. But I found that the front end of the market is still scarce, but they are not my cup of tea. Maybe it’s just me. Try to look for the full stack direction of the job, lack of found that the salary is not only dry front end of the high. Maybe the whole stack is the wrong way, maybe the big front end is right. It’s scary to be trapped in a dream created by your own comfort zone.

Although I have found a new employer and achieved my goals for this year, I deeply feel that if I continue like this, my future path will become narrower and narrower.

Break your arm, get out of your comfort zone
