This is the first “micro channel game development actual combat” series, this series we will start from 0, make a 1010 game.

If you don’t have any experience in game development, you can read my “Anyone can Make Games” series, which will guide you hand in hand to make your first wechat mini game.

The small game development tool used in the tutorial is wechat official small game production tool: wechat small game production tool

After writing the “Anyone Can Make Games” tutorial series, I received a lot of feedback. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that they made their first mini game after watching my series of tutorials. All this feedback means a lot to me. Thanks to the feedback from these friends, I feel that what I do is valuable and meaningful.

The “Anyone Can Make Games” series is aimed at people who are new to game development, people who don’t have any game development experience. So I came up with the idea of writing an advanced tutorial. If the everyman series taught you how to get started with game development, the goal of this advanced series is to help you actually make a “hand out” mini-game. And explore the monetisation possibilities of mini-games.

So this series will include the following content, I will start from 0 and take you step by step to make a complete “1010” mini-game. After the game is finished, the game will be submitted to the micro channel game platform. If the total number of users reaches 1000, the application for opening the flow master (this is the condition for the micro channel game platform to open the flow master), continue to explore the profit possibility of micro channel game.

So, here’s what we’re going to do. It looks something like this.

Please ignore these clumsy words.

A game similar to Tetris (also known as 1010), the rules are simple: drag the shapes below to the top of the table and make up a row or column to eliminate points.

It’s not an original game, because it’s been around for a long time, and there are so many different styles and versions. I chose to make a game like this to test some of my ideas.

  • Make a game that doesn’t go out of style. The gameplay of this game is very classic, after the verification of the market, like Tetris will not be outdated.

  • Make a game that doesn’t need to be maintained long after it’s finished. Done is done, do not need to continue to invest time and energy maintenance.

  • Make a nice game. After opening it, people can feel that it is a delicate work, which will make people feel comfortable.

I wanted it to be a simple, polished game that was comfortable to watch, that didn’t grab your attention, that you could start and stop at any time. It will stay there quietly and accompany you through spring, summer, fall and winter (the four main themes of the game).

If I can record the process of production, it will be the beginning of the micro channel game development combat series.

The “Anyone Can Make Games” series was my first tutorial. This “Development in action” series will be the first time I’ve written an advanced tutorial. I’m sure there will be a lot of shortcomings, but I’m sorry. It would be great if you could give me suggestions and feedback. Your feedback means a lot to me.
