On July 8, 2021, the evaluation results of the “CCF-Baidu Pine Cone Fund” in 2021 (hereinafter referred to as “Pine Cone Fund”) were officially announced to the public. After two rounds of online letter evaluation and joint review, nearly 40 experts comprehensively evaluated their scientific research ability, research value and project feasibility, and finally 36 young scholars were selected to be funded by this year’s Pine Cones Foundation. The selected projects are now officially announced:
“CCF-Baidu Pine Cones Fund” was jointly launched by Baidu and the China Computer Society (CCF) in 2020. It is committed to building a platform for industry-university-research cooperation and academic exchange for young scholars from universities and research institutes at home and abroad, and building an artificial intelligence technology ecosystem in China.
Songguo Foundation is the only research fund for young scholars established in China based on Feijiao, China’s first self-developed, open source and industry-level deep learning platform. The fund aims to support young scholars under the age of 40 to carry out one-year open or semi-open research on artificial intelligence technology. The foundation will provide millions of project funds, platform, data, technology and other multi-dimensional support and services for young scholars, with a total value of tens of millions of yuan.
Since the application was opened on April 30 this year, the 2021 CCF-Baidu Pine Cone Fund has attracted extensive attention and active participation from young scholars at home and abroad, especially university researchers. The total number of applicants for the fund is over 300, which is a wide range of AI research competition with high academic level.

In the future, Baidu will work with young scholars who have won the Pinego Fund to carry out in-depth cooperation in the exploration and practice of cutting-edge technologies based on the open source platform of Baidu Flying Par Deep Learning.
