The experiment is introduced
- Make a closed loop road directly and let the car run on the runway for 999 seconds to observe the real-time data such as the speed of the car.
- Before doing this experiment, a simple sample is already open by default, and clicking Start works.

The experiment purpose
- Learn how to build a scene;
- I learned how to plan the route. I made many mistakes here. The main reason was that I did not know how to connect multiple sections of the route together when drawing the route.
- Learn the use of Junction;
- Understand the display of Instruments dashboard and IPGMovie real-time 3D effects interface;
- Learn the adjustment of vehicle operation strategy.

Add a Straight road Straight
- First adjust to add straight road function
- Method 1: Long press the first module under the Road column with the left mouse button. Later, a variety of roads will pop up. Click Straight
- Method 2: Click the first module under Road, the button will feel concave
Then right-click the blank area in the artboard interface and click the Straight button in the Road SegmentBoth methods draw a straight path function, and the mouse becomes a cross.
- Click the left mouse button on the blank area of the skateboard, move the mouse to the right for some distance, and then click the left mouse button again
A road will appear inside the palette, and we can scroll the pulley forward to zoom in on the road
Add three straight roads
- In the same way as adding a direct road, add three more roads. The basic layout is as follows
- As for the parameters of each road, you can click the road with the left mouse button, and then click Link 0 (the other roads may correspond to Link2, Link3, and Link4 in turn. Every day after the road is created, it will default to Link plus number).
- We can see the basic information of the road Link 0 on the right, where we can adjust the first component we normally create to the origin coordinate, xyz coordinate to 0, and the rest of the components refer to that coordinate system.
- We can also see information about all components in the path in the side Object List
- A seemingly simple straight road component is composed of many components. For example, by default, Link 3 is a lane in two directions. We can adjust the number of lanes by increasing or decreasing the components according to the actual situation
- Or double-click Lane 0 to go to the parameters screen in the component and adjust Width at start and Width at End to adjust the Width of the road
Add a Junction Junction
- Similar to Straight, click Junction to start building the intersection
- First of all, put the mouse on the side of the road, become a cross, single left mouse button
- When the mouse moves in other directions, a yellow dotted line will be pulled out
- When pulled to the side of the next path, the dotted line becomes realized
- Click the left mouse button at this time, the solid line is fixed, and two dashed lines appear
- Double click the left mouse button on any position of the drawing board to generate a road and create a Junction (the Junction needs to be connected to at least two roads and can be connected to multiple roads. The method is to click the left mouse button on both sides of other roads again when the dotted line appears in the previous step).
Add three intersections

Set a short track of vehicle movement
- Select Route, the second button below Traffic. The road always shows two solid lines with arrows in different directions

- Left mouse button single the line once, the color will become more eye-catching,
- At this time to put the mouse up, the line above will be more than a yellow dotted line, the arrow will become yellow

Add test vehicle
- Go back to the app home screen and click Select to the right of Car
- Select Demo_Audi_R8 under Product Examples – Examples and click OK
- Basic information about the car will appear on the screen
Adding a Running Policy
- Click the blank place under the cracked nut in the lower left corner to pop up the cracked nut window
- Click the line “==== Global Setting/Preparation ====” and set the initial Velocity of the vehicle as 50 and Gear as 3 on the right side
- Click on New in the lower left corner to bring up a New policy that runs for 30 seconds by default. Click Close
Display live animation and dashboard
- By default, we can’t see the vehicle status and speed, we need to turn them on, click IPGMovie and Instruments under File to do so

- In the IPGMovie interface, we adjust the view size by sliding the mouse pulley and adjust the view Angle with the left mouse button
- At this point, click Start on the main interface to see the running status of the car and the rotation of the instrument panel
Set cycle trajectory
- Go back to the Road editing interface Scenario/Road, open Route 0 interface, and click the cross in the upper right corner to delete the track just created
- The track turns green again
- First select a section of track, the track becomes eye-catching, indicating the start of creating track
- Then the stand-alone track turns yellow, indicating that the track is selected
Then move the mouse pointer to the next track, and the track also becomes a dashed line. Left-click to indicate that the track is the subsequent track
- The same operation, select the track of each road in turn
- Note that every time you place the mouse over a track, the name of the track will be displayed. Make sure the track name is the same, or if not, a different track. Some of the above actions may be wrong
- After all the tracks are drawn, they are all yellow, as shown below
Circular 999 seconds
- To view the results more effectively, it returns to the Maneuver of the main interface, sets the value of Duration to 999, indicating that it runs for 999 seconds, then clicks Close to return to the main interface, and then clicks Start

- In the path planning, I tried many times, but the path could not be connected. Finally, I found that it was not a Route. There were also occasional startup problems, and all of them were solved after restarting the computer. So only Junction can connect different roads, and the module Junciton can only be connected at first. Finally, it turns out that it is successful with a double click. I don’t know whether I am anti-human or the software is anti-human.

During the operation, Could not start application (simulation Backend):Can’t communicate with application, APO timeout (10.5s). The main cause of this error is the dcm.win64. exe failure. There are many possibilities, and I will explain some of them here.
- If you’re running more than one BUG at a time and clicking on more than one Start, or if you’re shutting down bug in the wrong way (the software crashes by accident, etc.), just reboot your computer.
- If you open it for the first time after you have just installed it, or open it for the first time after you Start it, or if you do not have the above operation before opening it, you may have a fault on your 12345 port. I also don’t know why you click Start to transmit data at the beginning of design. But there are two main possibilities for why this might have happened:
- Firewall or anti-virus software will disable The 12345 port: it is suggested to close the firewall and anti-virus software thoroughly. If the firewall or firewall works normally after being closed, it is disabled. If you must open the anti-virus software or firewall, check the place where the port whitelist or software whitelist is set and set it.
- Other software has occupied the port: This happened to me. I downloaded the latest version of Xunlei and a service occupied port 12345. DownloadSDKServer file in D:\Program Files (x86)\Thunder Network\Thunder\Program\ Resources \bin\SDK. When this file is run, port 12345 will be occupied. I can’t. It’s Thunder and It’s Got to be One at a time. If you don’t have a thunderbolt, it is possible that the port, on the Power Shell or CMD, input netstat ano | findstr searches “12345”, can find that by taking up, behind the data, is the process of PID number, then go to task manager, To see which program is occupying it, just turn it off; Close process can also, but the thunderbolt DownloadSDKServer file, through the end of the process, and will generate a new process, still occupy the port, so to close the program is the best way, if the software is not important, it is unloaded, I have no good way.
