Having fun writing this article and finding the best things from the depths of the plugin market, HERE are five developer tools that are fun but don’t really work.

It doesn’t work, but it might satisfy your soul of the other half.

1. Power Mode

The Power Mode plugin lets you unleash the Power of true developers!

Bored writing code? It’s just that you didn’t install the right plugin.

This plugin gets you hooked on code. Ever increasing numbers of combos, vibrating screens, and cool particle effects make you realize you have a code beast inside you?

Even better, particle effects can be customized!

Miss our old friend the paper clip? I can have him with me from now on.

If you’re a Hyper user, you can turn this mode on on the terminal as well.

2. Rainbow Fart

Never get credit for your code?

This plugin will compliment you when writing code using standard synthetic speech.

The quality of the code doesn’t matter, as long as you write it, you get credit for it.

Note: “Rainbow Fart” is a direct translation of The Chinese “Rainbow Fart”.

3. Explodal

Is your written dialog box not getting the attention it deserves? Let’s put an explosion on it.

4. Obnoxious.css

Speaking of getting attention, this CSS library definitely catches the eye of the user.

There are 5 cool animation effects to choose from.

My personal preference is an intensifier.

Git push rocket

If you fire a rocket every time you push your code, would you be more motivated to push more, lest you forget to push your code? Anyway, after I personally configured this, git push frequency increased significantly.

Rocket from Hyper terminal

Don’t think the rocket looks real enough? This VS Code plugin fills the edit area with rocket launch animations.
