Python was founded by Guido van Rossum, a Dutchman. During Christmas 1989 in Amsterdam, Guido decided to develop a new script interpreter as a successor to the ABC language in order to overcome the Christmas boredom. Python, which means Python, was chosen as the name of the programming language after Monty Python’s Flying Circus, a British television comedy that first aired in the 1970s.
Why learn Python
Python is easier to learn
Python’s design philosophy is elegant, unambiguous, and simple.
Python has a rich library of modules
Both official and third-party. The modules you want to do are probably already done by someone, and you just need to call them instead of reinventing the wheel, which is one of the great features of programming.
Python is widely used in work
- In the direction of website development, Python is used to build websites and background services that are easier to maintain. Many well-known networks use Python for development. For example: Gmail, Youtube, Zhihu, Douban, etc.
- In the direction of data analysis, artificial intelligence and big data are hot now. The language used is Python, and there are a lot of high-quality data analysis codes on Github. Python is also popular in the field of bioinformation analysis.
- In the direction of game development, it is usually embedded in the game as a script. You only need to modify the script content to adjust the game, without recompiling the game, which is particularly convenient.
- More and more o&M people tend to automate and process a large number of O&M tasks in batches. Python’s strengths in system administration lie in its powerful development capabilities and complete toolchain.
